New Delhi, Aug 9: The Ministry of Home Affairs has reportedly issued an inspection notice to Islamic preacher Zakir Naik's Islamic Research Foundation (IRF).

znThe development comes following the allegations of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) violations.

The notice is the first step towards suspending or revoking the FCRA registration of any NGO or organisation.

This is one of the first legal actions initiated by the government against Dr. Naik, after he faced a media trial in the wake of terror attack in Dhaka cafe.

Though Dr Naik had openly condemned the terror attack and called it the act of enemies of Islam, a section of media had accused him of inspiring terrorists after a daily news paper from Bangla Desh claimed that one of the Dhaka terrorists had followed Dr Naik's FB page.

Looking at the arguments by Naik supporters it is not difficult to understand why he has billion followers..This world has more FOOLS than the intellectuals. All the bad things attracts more people.. this is the general law. These are the same people dreaming of going to heaven to enjoy 72 virgins while creating hell in the real word. The whole world laughs at their logics...Hahaha.

Bengaluru, Jan 5: Lambasting Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa over the proposal to rename Ramanagara as Nava Bengaluru, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday said that such a move will be an insult to Lord Ram, after whom the district is named.

In a series of tweets, Kumaraswamy accused that renaming the district was a pretext to sell its fertile irrigated land to capitalists. Yediyurappa also wants to settle a score with me by renaming it, he alleged

"If Yediyurappa wishes to develop Ramanagara, he should release the funds allocated in the budget. If you want to develop it further, you will find support from me and my people. But, don't set fire to the districts' culture and identity by changing its name," he tweeted.

Bengaluru, Jul 19: A man protested in front of Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa's residence on Saturday alleging lack of medical care claimed the life of his one-month-old infant girl, police said on Saturday.

Venkatesh sat with the baby's photograph in front of the Chief Minister's house, saying the girl developed health issues on July 11 and he rushed her to a hospital, but it turned him away, the police said.

He said he had approached about a dozen hospitals and all of them refused to provide the baby any medical care. Eventually, the baby died.

This forced Venkatesh to hold a protest to draw the Chief Minister's attention to the issue, the police said.

The demonstration drew public attention and a few people joined him in the protest, they said.
