Hyderabad, Apr 25: A 25-year-old housewife was found stabbed to death at her paramour's house in Kukatpally on Monday.

stabThe victim Prathyusha is wife of Anji Reddy, a private employee from Phase II of KPHB Colony. Prathyusha's family is from Addanki in Prakasham district and she went to visit her family a few days ago.

On Friday night Prathyusha boarded a bus at Addanki to reach KPHB. However, instead of going to her house at KPHB, Prathyusha went to her paramour Srinivas' house at Balaji Nagar in Kukatpally.

"Srinivas is also from Addanki and he was a classmate of Prathyusha in college," KPHB inspector Ch Kushalkar said.

On Saturday night, neighbours saw Srinivas leaving the house and did not return. On Monday night, house owner noticed foul smell emanating from Srinivas' locked flat and tried to reach him over phone. As Srinivas' phone was switched off, the house owner broke the lock and found a woman lying dead on the bed.

"The victim was smothered and stabbed with a knife to death. We found the victim's phone near the body and established her identity by calling people in her contacts," the inspector said. Police said that Srinivas is unemployed.

Police registered a murder case under section 302 of the IPC and launched a manhunt to nab Srinivas.
