Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro has already made Rs 60 crore before its release

Mumbai, Aug 9: The Mohenjo Daro team is in a happy space as even before the film has hit the screens, it has managed to recover Rs 60 crore through its satellite, music and other rights.

Mohenjo“A major chunk of their investment has already been recovered. Since Mohenjo Daro is a production film and not an acquisition, the economics of the project are fully in control,” said a source close to the film’s team.

According to the source, the total cost of the film, including publicity and advertising, is Rs 115 crores, and the makers have already recovered Rs 45 crore from selling of satellite rights and the remaining Rs 15 crore through music and other rights.

“Which means that the producers only need Rs 45 crore in India and Rs 15 crore overseas to break even,” the source said.

Given the excitement around the return of the successful team of director Ashutosh Gowariker and Hrithik Roshan after Jodhaa Akbar, AR Rahman’s soulful music and Hrithik’s release after a gap of two years -- the number seems achievable.

Hrithik, who has a huge fan following, is happy how the economics are shaping up for the movie.

“I am glad that the film has been able to recover a large chunk of its investment and now through theatrical revenues, we need to recover a relatively manageable sum,” he said in a statement.

The movie, releasing on August 12, also stars former beauty queen Pooja Hegde.

Kolhapur, Feb 21: Voicing against Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), renowned lyrics and thinker Javed Akhtar has said that the act was an assault to secularism and integrity of India and with the ongoing protests, the nation had reached a threshold for an another struggle.

Speaking here on Thursday night at an event organised on the 5th death anniversary of CPI senior leader and progressive leader Com Govind Pansare, Mr Akhtar said the newly amended citizenship act was a plot to split the country.

Mr Javed said that communalism has a deep root in India and it spread after the formation of Hindu Mahasabha and Muslim League in British India. "Muslim league got Pakistan but Hindu Mahasabha is still unsatisfied," he alleged and added that BJP was now 'working as a branch of RSS' and trying to 'split the country' through NRC.

Mumbai, Mar 7: A 'farm-to-fork' themed restaurant 'He-Man' situated on National Highway in Haryana's Karnal -- franchised by veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra -- has been sealed for building law violations, officials said on Saturday.

The Karnal Municipal Corporation sealed the franchise outlet on Friday for not furnishing the change of land use (CLU) certificate and illegal constructions, an official said.

The restaurant is located on National Highway 44 on the outskirts of Karnal, some 150 km from here.

The franchise was given to Delhi-based businessman Pramod Kumar.

"After the success of my restaurant Garam Dharam Dhaba, I am now announcing a farm-to- fork themed restaurant 'He-Man'," Dharmendra had announced on Instagram after its launch on Valentine's Day.

Karnal Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav said the action was initiated as the restaurant owner did not respond to MC notice on the issue.
