New Delhi, Oct 6: Bollywood actress Radhika Apte, who is known for wearing her heart on her sleeves, recently slammed a reporter on being quizzed about her leaked nude scenes from the movie ‘Parched’.
Apte stated that she isn’t ashamed of doing bold scenes on screen when the script demands.
It’s been a while that some of Radhika’s bold scenes with actor Adil Hussain from ‘Parched’ went viral before the release of the movie and created a stir in the industry. However, the makers did claim that the movie is much more than the nude scenes, Apte too had stated that she isn’t bothered about the leaked scenes.
But the actress got agitated during a recently held press conference, when a reporter quizzed her about the role of controversy in the success of the movie targeting her leaked scenes.
Miffed by the question, Radhika hit back at the journalist and said that it was indeed a ‘ridiculous’ question to ask. She further retaliated saying, “Controversies are made by people like you”.
The actress spoke her mind and said that being an artiste she will do whatever is required for her job.
Speaking about the conservative approach of people, Radhika said that it is those people, who are embarrassed of their bodies, tend to get curious about other’s body.
“If you get out of your cocoon and look at world cinema and what people are doing abroad, what people are successfully doing, people who are not ashamed of their bodies, you’ll probably not ask me this question”, Radhika said.
Apparently, the leaked nude scenes of the actress were considered to be a publicity gimmick. However, despite creating a big controversy before release, ‘Parched’ failed to leave a mark at the box office and made a lifetime collection of just ₹ 1.07 crore.
Directed by Leena Yadav, the movie was co-produced by Ajay Devgn. ‘Parched’ also featured Surveen Chawla and Tannishtha Chatterjee.
