Mysuru, Sept 7: BJP leader and Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha has sought police protection following an alleged threat to his life from a Twitter user.
In a letter to the Mysuru City Police Commissioner, Mr. Simha said a Twitter user by name Ananthamurthy B had given death threat to him following journalist Gauri Lankesh’s murder.
Mr. Simha has asked the police to arrest the Twitter user and take necessary action.
Udupi, Mar 30: Karnataka Home Minister and Udupi district in-charge Basavaraj Bommai has urged citizens to stay indoors and help government prevent spread of Covid-19.
In a video released by the Minister on Monday, he said, ''Three patients have been cured and we are observing their situation. All the primary contacts of these patients have been quarantined.''
''In Dr TMA Pai Hospital a 100-bed COVID hospital has been set up and a 150-bed SDM hospital in Udyavara is ready to use as isolation facilities,'' he added.
Chikkamagaluru, Mar 8: A 20 member armed gang barged into a farmhouse at Gudde Thota near Jayapura in Koppa taluk and looted valuables and cash worth about Rs 12 lakh after assaulting the inmates, Police said on Sunday.
According to police, the culprits covered their face with masks and after assaulting watchman they broke open the main door and tied up Vijayaraghav and his wife Asha before robbing the valuables.
The culprits took away Rs 2.5 lakh in cash and valuables worth over Rs 10 lakh.
Hubli, Feb 17: A local court here on Monday sent three Kashmiri students who were arrested on charges of sedition to judicial custody till March 2.
They were arrested for allegedly raising pro-Pakistan slogans and posting a video of the same on social media, told police.
All three were taken into custody by the police on Sunday night and were produced before a local court on Monday.
