I have nothing against Shah Rukh Khan: Kin of man who died at Vadodara station

New Delhi, Jan 25: Suffocation due to crowd led to the death of a social activist who collapsed during Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s train stopover at Vadodara railway station, confirmed the deceased’s family members, who also said they have “nothing against” the actor. Farid Khan Pathan, a resident of Hatikhana area of Vadodara, was at the railway station with his wife and daughter, when Shah Rukh was present there for the promotional tour for his film “Raees”.

Pathan fell unconscious and upon being rushed to a hospital, was declared dead. Journalist Samina Shaikh, niece of the deceased, was travelling with the “Raees” team at the time. In a statement issued on behalf of the film’s team, Samina said: “It’s unfortunate that my uncle lost his life due to suffocation in the crowd as he was a heart patient.”

“However, Shah Rukh Khan and his team made sure that my mother and I reach safely to my uncle’s funeral. We got down at Ratlam and Shah Rukh’s team arranged a car for us to Vadodara to attend my uncle’s burial.” The scribe also said Shah Rukh also ensured arrangements were made for their other relatives to fly in from Mumbai to Vadodara to attend her uncle’s last rites.

While Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Kailash Vijayvargiya and Manoj Tiwari slammed Shah Rukh for the incident and urged him to compensate the family, the deceased’s mother said in the statement: “We have nothing against Shah Rukh Khan as he is not at fault.”

“He is also like my son… The incident has nothing to do with the ‘Raees’ promotional event. My son fell prey to the crowd and succumbed to death due to suffocation. All we want is prayers from everyone for my son.” A huge crowd had thronged Vadodara railway station to see Shah Rukh on Monday night as he was travelling to Delhi on August Kranti Rajdhani Express from Mumbai to promote his film. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Tuesday ordered a probe into Pathan’s death.

Mumbai, Aug 2: None of the sim cards that actor Sushant Singh Rajput was using was registered under his name, said the team of Bihar Police, probing his death case, on Sunday.

The team also informed that one of the sim cards that the late actor was using was registered the name of his friend Siddharth Pithani.

"We are now tracking the call detail records (CDRs)," the police said.

The team also said that they will interrogate the family of Sushant Singh Rajput's former manager Disha Salian, who died few days before Sushant's death.

"Even after constant attempts to connect with them on phone, we have failed to establish any contact," it said.

Earlier today, while talking to news agency, the Director-General of Police (DGP) of Bihar Gupteshwar Pandey hinted at the non-cooperation of Mumbai police with his team in their investigation.

"We don't have post-mortem report details, CCTV footage or any information that has been collected by Mumbai Police during probe till now. Our Chief Minister has requested the Maharashtra Chief Minister to ask his police force to cooperate with us," the DGP added.

When asked if Bihar Police want CBI probe into the case, he said, "We are more than capable of doing an unbiased investigation. We hope that Mumbai Police will cooperate with us and we'll conclude the investigation."

Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14. Mumbai Police who was investigating the case had earlier informed that they have recorded the statements of 41 people, including filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, film critic Rajeev Masand, director-producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and filmmaker Aditya Chopra so far.

A team of Bihar Police is in Mumbai to probe the actor's death after an FIR was filed by Rajput's father KK Singh against late actor's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty in Bihar in connection with the death case under several sections including abetment of suicide.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had also registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) in Rajput's death case. ED registered the report after an FIR was filed by his father against Chakraborty.

Mar 11: The shooting of Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai has been completed, and the film will now release on schedule.

If one recalls, the film went on the floors in the first week of November 2019 and was supposed to be Salman’s fastest completed film. Radhe is slated to be an Eid release, which will clash with Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb.

The music icon said the virus doesn't discriminate between rich and poor.
