I tried my best, now you have to pacify your MLAs: HDK tells Cong high-command

Bengaluru, Jun 8: With his government facing birth pangs of coalition politics, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Friday stepped in to check the disquiet among newly elected Congress lawmakers who were left out during the Cabinet expansion, but they remained defiant.

Kumaraswamy, who was sworn in as the chief minister on May 23 and proved his majority in the Assembly on May 25, has not been able to distribute portfolios to his ministers two days after Cabinet expansion, largely due to the tumult among Congress MLAs, some of whom were ministers in the previous government.

The chief minister and several state Congress leaders met these lawmakers, who appeared in no mood to relent, at least not for now, after which Kumaraswamy asked the Congress high-command to act immediately and resolve the situation.

With the ruling coalition in ferment, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar called the JD(S)- Congress government "directionless and temporary"

"Even though the people gave the highest number of seats to the BJP in the elections, JD(S) and Congress made a backdoor entry to power. This (government) is only temporary," he told a press conference.

"The workers are not happy with the coalition of the twoparties which were at loggerheads before the elections. Therefore, the coalition will be short-lived," Kumar said.

Making a desperate bid to set his house in order, Kumaraswamy met M B Patil, who has emerged as the leader of the dissident MLAs, and later told journalists that despite the matter not being directly related to him, he had gone to pacify the legislators as the leader of the JD(S)-Congress coalition to ensure the stability of the government.

"This is an issue that is not related to me because these are decisions made within Congress party... I have understood his (Patil) feeling of pain that he has worked for Congress party when it needed (him), but feels let down now," Kumaraswamy said.

"I have gathered his feelings. I request Delhi leaders (of Congress) to immediately act to find a solution," he said.

Ahead of Kumaraswamy's visit, senior Congress leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister and state Congress chief G Parameshwara, and ministers D K Shivakumar, K J George and R V Deshpande met Patil at his residence to smooth his ruffled feathers.

According to Congress sources, Patil will be travelling to the national capital to discuss the developments with the party high-command.
A group of disgruntled MLAs, including M T B Nagaraj, Satish Jarkiholi, Sudhakar and Roshan Baig, among others, had yesterday met at Patil's residence.

Several such meetings have taken place over the last three days which were attended among others by former minister H K Patil.

Meanwhile, Jarkiholi, an AICC secretary, said he is contemplating resigningfrom the party post.

Declaring that he and several other Congress MLAs were unhappy overthe Cabinet expansion and are holding talks, Jarkiholi said theywill meet again on June 11.

"I'm thinking about resigning as AICC secretary because despite holding that position I could not become aminister nor was able to secure a ministry for others.

"So, peoplequestion how I can do justice (to them) and also my strength....So, as soon as possible, I will come to a decision on this afterdiscussion," he said.

An unappeased M P Patil told reporters that Kumaraswamy's was a "courtesy call" and that it was an "internal development" related to the Congress about which he cannot do anything.

Patil said he was not alone and the group will take a collective decision. He also said their effort was to strengthen the Congress.

"About 15 to 20 of us (MLAs) are together, we will take a decision together. Let there be no wrong information. All our efforts are towards strengthening the Congress party and taking it forward," he told reporters.

Asked whether he was leading the group of sulking lawmakers, Patil said, "We are a team. I'm no senior or no junior. We 15-20 people are all equals. Whatever decision happens, it will be of the team."

The opposition BJP took a dig at the state's ruling dispensation, saying it was not a "functioning government".

"48 hours after Congress & its (sic) B team took oath asministers in Karnataka we still dont see a functioning govt. All they r busy is with deciding who will loot what in thestate. Cong CM Kumaraswamy & his govts soul (sic) intention is toensure enough is looted to fund 2019 elections," Karnataka BJP said in a tweet.

Kumaraswamy had inducted 25 new ministers on June 6, including those from his party JD(S), Congress, BSP, and the fledgling KPJP, but has still not been able to distribute portfolios to them due to the rumblings in the Congress, which is the second largest party after the BJP in the Assembly with 79 MLAs.

Several key members of the previous Siddaramaiah ministry, including M B Patil, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Ramalinga Reddy, R Roshan Baig, H K Patil, Tanvir Sait, Shamanur Sivashankarappaand and Satish Jarkhiholi did not find a place in the new government.

Mangaluru, Apr 23: An astronomical phenomenon, ‘Zero Shadow Day', will be observed in Mangaluru on April 24 and in Udupi on April 25.

According to a press release from Poornaprajna Amateur Astronomers’ Club, the wonder will commence and people will see their shadows disappear for a few moments at 12:28 pm.

The phenomenon is called as Zero Shadow Day. If a person takes a candle in a dark room and use it to create a shadow of one’s palm on the wall, the hand will cast shadow on the wall as one moves the hand. But when one places the palm on the wall, there will be no shadow.

In the phenomenon, the sun at these times shines exactly above the heads on these days. In astronomy, this point is called as Zenith. The point in the sky directly above an observer at any given location. So it is quite clear now that on Zero Shadow Day, the sun passes through the Zenith as a result of which, all objects will have minimal or no shadow if they are on the ground.

The reason for this happens on some specific days is concerned with astronomy. The earth spins around on its own axis and causes days and nights. It also revolves around the sun causing a year. But the seasons are caused because the axis is tilted at an angle of 23.5 degrees. It is because of this tilt that the sun rises every day in the east gradually moving towards the north till June 21st and then slowly proceeding towards the south till December 21st every year. “We call these days solstice. This means the sun shines between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn every day passing by the equator on the days we call equinox,” the release stated.

As the earth moves around the sun and revolves on its own axis, for all the people between Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn, the Sun at noon moves father and closer to the zenith passing through zenith twice causing two Zero Shadow Days per year. People at Mangaluru will observe this on April 24 and August 18 every year and People in Udupi will observe this on April 25 and August 17 every year.

Places with same latitudes will observe the same days of Zero Shadow but the time would vary with longitude. For example, people of Bengaluru as they share the latitude with Mangaluru will also observe it on April 24. While the people of Mangaluru will observe their shadows disappear at 12.28pm, people of Bengaluru will observe this at 12:17pm. Places like Moodabidri, Bantwal, Sakleshpur and Hassan will also observe Zero Shadow on April 24.

Places like Brahmavar, Karkala, Sringeri, Kudremukha, Chikkamagaluru will observe the Zero Shadow Day on the same day as Udupi on April 25.

Newsroom, Jan 26: An Indian Muslim youth who had applied for a job in Dubai has been left aghast after his prospective employer, who happens to be an Indian, mailed back chiding him for looking for work and suggested that he should make a living (sic) by joining anti-CAA protestors in Shaheen Bagh in New Delhi.

Shaheen Bagh is the epicentre of ongoing mass demonstrations against contentious Citizenship Amendment Act.

Abdulla S.S, a 23-year-old youth from Kerala, who had applied for a mechanical engineer’s position in Dubai said he is still reeling from the shock of the email he got from UAE-based Indian expat Jayant Gokhale in response to his job application last week.

Hostile response

“Just a thought. Why u need a job? Go to Delhi and sit in Shaheen Bagh for protest. Every day you will get Rs 1000. Free food i.e Biryani, Unlimited amount of Tea and Milk, some time sweets also,” Gokhale said in the email which has since gone viral.

Scores have shared the email on social media seeking action against Gokhale who runs a consultancy in Dubai. Many said the email is offensive on two counts. First, it ridicules and discriminates a job seeker on the basis of his religious identity and, second, it undermines the credibility of Shaheen Bagh protestors by suggesting that they are being paid to sit in.

Abdullah said he’s sad and appalled. “I shared Mr Gokhale’s email with some friends. Who would have thought it would go viral. I don’t want any controversy. All I want is a job,” he was quoted as saying.

Gokhale apologises

“I am suffering from ill-health and undergoing dialysis. My email is being blown out of proportion. I didn’t mean what I wrote,” Gokhale was quoted as saying by a Gulf based newspaper.

“My message to candidate was not intended to hurt anyone in any manner or discriminate. I have already sent apology message to the concerned person [Abdullah],” he said in the email reproduced here ad verbum. “I very much value UAE’s outlook, policies and culture. I do not in anyway like to go against values of UAE. In fact I am very thankful to UAE for looking after my health,” he added.

This hate monster is commenting as if his Father and God Father are financing the people agitating agaisnt CAA/NCR.    How about the bjp candidates who are distributing money among voters.   Video is viral showing ladiest from bjp distributing cash to people for voting bjp in delhi election.   EC should take note of this and ban bjp from contesting as its against our constitution.   bjp is doing everythign agaisnt constitution and labels others as anti indians.   bjp nhever honours or accept indian constitution.   CAA is the proof for it.   CAA is 100 perent agaisnt our constitution.   Shame on you bjp.    We should unite and make bjp lose all the seats.

It is no wonder that this character is undergoing Dialysis. With the hate mentality that he is carrying, it is not wonder that GOD has given him punishment in the form of non-functional kidney. His apology is fake, the moment he lands in Mubai, he wil wag his tale again in his pathological hate for Muslims while licking mUslim shit.
