I want Narendra Modi to continue as India’s Prime Minister: S M Krishna

Bengaluru, Mar 11: Former External Affairs minister and BJP leader S M Krishna strongly advocated continuation of Mr Narendra Modi as India’s Prime Minister and said he would actively campaign for the victory of BJP candidates in the coming Lok Sabha elections from Karnataka.

The veteran leader said here on Monday that he felt that Mr Modi should continue as the prime minister and to strengthen his hands BJP should win more seats in Karnataka.

Speaking to reporters after a BJP delegation led by former deputy chief minister R Ashok, which invited Mr Krishna to lead the party’s campaign in Karnataka, he said he would work towards helping BJP gain more seats from Karnataka and support Mr Modi become prime minister once again, as he felt this was important.

Who the hell this guy is who has no moral character.  He is a chappal licker of political parties.   He has cheated congress who gave him many chances like CM.   He is a cheater.   I dont think anyone is listening to him.   He is like a dog of street.   None is taking him in their party due to his illogic and iresponsible speeches.  It seems as if he is getting mad.   It will be better for him to consult any doctor.   He has cheated people of karnataka.  We reject him and wish him to be kicked out of karnataka.

Bengaluru, May 4: A total of 37 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in Karnataka taking the total number to 651, State Health Department said on Monday.

"Thirty seven new coronavirus positive cases have been confirmed in Karnataka from 5 pm yesterday to 5 pm today. The total number of cases in the state stands at 651," the department said.

The total number of cases includes 27 deaths and 321 persons who have been discharged. Of the remaining 302 cases, 296 patients are in isolation in designated hospitals and six patients are in ICU.

India has registered 2,553 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours and the total number of cases now stands at 44,532.

Bengaluru, May 28: The Karnataka government has done away with previously mandatory COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic international travellers. 

The development comes a day after the government issued a circular, which allowed placing of international travellers into home quarantine if they had completed seven days of institutional quarantine.

A circular signed by Jawaid Akhtar, Additional Chief Secretary to the State Government, dated May 27, says that any “person who has completed seven days of institutional quarantine and is asymptomatic can be permitted for home quarantine with a COVID-19 test (RT-PCR), subject to undergoing a medical check-up.”

This check-up equates to thermal screening (with a required temperature of under 37.5C or 99.5F and pulse oximetry of under 94%). 

The circular added that all elderly people, over the age of 60, and those with comorbidities (such as Diabetes mellitus, hypertension, asthma, heart ailment, renal disease...etc) are “required to be clinically evaluated diligently prior to shifting them for quarantine.”

On Wednesday, Pankaj Pandey, Commissioner, the Department of Health and Family Welfare said that these new guidelines were based on recommendations from the COVID Task Force. A member of the COVID Task Force said that new strategies had been formulated based on the latest findings on how the SARS-Cov-2 virus affects people.

Tumkur, Apr 11: Despite the nationwide lockdown, BJP MLA from Turuvekere constituency, M Jayaram, was on Friday seen celebrating his birthday with several villagers in Gubbi taluk in Tumkur.

A sizable number of people were seen gathering in Gubbi taluk to celebrate the BJP legislator's birthday.

Meanwhile, scores of people around the country are getting booked for violating the lockdown. In Uttarakhand alone, more than 4500 people have been arrested until Friday for violating the norms of lockdown.

Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called for a three-week lockdown, urging people to practice social distancing to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has mounted to 6,761 of which 6039 are active cases, 516 have been cured/discharged/migrated, and 206 deaths have been reported.
