I will be the next CM of Karnataka, so don’t harass BJP workers: Yeddy warns police

Bengaluru, Jan 11: Karnataka BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa today asserted that he would become chief minister after the coming assembly elections and warned police officials working as "puppets" of the ruling Congress that the consequences "will not be right" for them.

Addressing a rally as part of his 'Nava Karnataka Parivartana Yatre' at Sira in Tumkur district, the state BJP president said, "I want to tell our police officers, after three or four months I will come as Chief Minister."

"Those police officials who are acting as puppets of the Congress, harassing our karyakartas against law by adding their name to the rowdies' list and creating an atmosphere of fear... I want to warn that consequences will not be right for you once we come back to power," Yeddyurappa said.

State Assembly elections are due in Karnataka early this year.

The BJP, which has set a target of winning 150 seats in the polls, has named Yeddyurappa as its Chief Ministerial candidate.

Hello Mungerilal your cm dream is like Thirukana Kanasu. Be mature and talk like a qualified poloiticIan. Police dept are  honest with their duty. If you became CM Law and order and Indian Constitution is equal to all. You RSS have to bend in front Indian Constituton. We all experienced your dirty mind and capacity during your past ruling. Karnataka is not belongs to any desk drohi it is belong to qualified patriot Indians. Your rss policy will never work out. Bengaluru, May 9: Dubai NRI Kannadigaru president and entrepreneur Naveed Magundi in a video message thanked government of India for helping stranded Indians in Arab countries to return home. 

The video was shared by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan on Friday on Twitter. 

"Kannadigas, who are in trouble in the Arab countries and wanting to return home, have got the central government's rapid response. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gratitude video on behalf of Dubai President Kannadigas," Narayan said in the tweet.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has prepared a chart for the first phase evacuation of over 14,000 Indian nationals stranded in 13 foreign countries by 64 flights in week one of the operation.

Mysuru, Feb 6: Karnataka Health Minister B Sriramulu on Thursday said that he would consult experts in Ayurveda and other streams over coronavirus issue.

Speaking to the media here, he said that ''So far no positive case has been reported in the state''.

''However, the Health department officials have taken all precautionary measures to check the epidemic'', he further said.

Udupi, Apr 5: Excise Department has formed a special patrol teams to check the illegal sale of liquor in the district during the lockdown period.

All liquor stores are closed till April 14 in view of the lockdown to contain Covid-19 spread. However, reports of liquor being sold illegally have come to the notice of the Excise Department.

In a stern warning, the department has stated that officials will verify the closing and opening stock at the liqour stores and if any discrepancy is found the violators will be penalised. The department has received over 20-30 calls regarding the illegal sales.
