I will be the next CM of Karnataka, so don’t harass BJP workers: Yeddy warns police

Bengaluru, Jan 11: Karnataka BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa today asserted that he would become chief minister after the coming assembly elections and warned police officials working as "puppets" of the ruling Congress that the consequences "will not be right" for them.

Addressing a rally as part of his 'Nava Karnataka Parivartana Yatre' at Sira in Tumkur district, the state BJP president said, "I want to tell our police officers, after three or four months I will come as Chief Minister."

"Those police officials who are acting as puppets of the Congress, harassing our karyakartas against law by adding their name to the rowdies' list and creating an atmosphere of fear... I want to warn that consequences will not be right for you once we come back to power," Yeddyurappa said.

State Assembly elections are due in Karnataka early this year.

The BJP, which has set a target of winning 150 seats in the polls, has named Yeddyurappa as its Chief Ministerial candidate.

Hello Mungerilal your cm dream is like Thirukana Kanasu. Be mature and talk like a qualified poloiticIan. Police dept are  honest with their duty. If you became CM Law and order and Indian Constitution is equal to all. You RSS have to bend in front Indian Constituton. We all experienced your dirty mind and capacity during your past ruling. Karnataka is not belongs to any desk drohi it is belong to qualified patriot Indians. Your rss policy will never work out. Bengaluru, Jun 5: An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter Scale jolted Karnataka on Friday morning while another with a magnitude of 4.7 was felt in Jharkhand.

The tremors were felt in Hampi (Karnataka) and Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

According to NCS, the aftershocks were felt at 6:55 am in both the places today.

Shivamogga, Feb 6: A youth, who allegedly uploaded pornography and inappropriate videos of children on social media, was arrested by the district CEN police after a tip-off from the CyberTipline.

The accused is a resident of Sorab taluk and is said to be below 18 years. He uploaded the objectionable content during April and May last year. He was traced based on the IP address of his computer and the mobile call records shared by the investigating agencies.

He was arrested in January under the provisions of the Information Technology Act 2000 and sent to judicial custody, said police sources.

Bengaluru, Apr 16: The Union Health Ministry on Wednesday has identified eight districts from Karnataka as COVID-19 hotspots.

Districts that have reported a higher number of cases are classified as hotspots, the districts where cases have been reported as non-hotspots, and green zones where no cases have been reported.

Bangalore Urban, Mysuru, Belagavi, Dakshina Kannada, Bidar, Kalaburgi, Bagalokote and Dharwad have been identified as Covid-19 hotspots by Union Health Ministry, tweeted the state health department on Wednesday.
