I will be the next CM of Karnataka, so don’t harass BJP workers: Yeddy warns police

Bengaluru, Jan 11: Karnataka BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa today asserted that he would become chief minister after the coming assembly elections and warned police officials working as "puppets" of the ruling Congress that the consequences "will not be right" for them.

Addressing a rally as part of his 'Nava Karnataka Parivartana Yatre' at Sira in Tumkur district, the state BJP president said, "I want to tell our police officers, after three or four months I will come as Chief Minister."

"Those police officials who are acting as puppets of the Congress, harassing our karyakartas against law by adding their name to the rowdies' list and creating an atmosphere of fear... I want to warn that consequences will not be right for you once we come back to power," Yeddyurappa said.

State Assembly elections are due in Karnataka early this year.

The BJP, which has set a target of winning 150 seats in the polls, has named Yeddyurappa as its Chief Ministerial candidate.

Hello Mungerilal your cm dream is like Thirukana Kanasu. Be mature and talk like a qualified poloiticIan. Police dept are  honest with their duty. If you became CM Law and order and Indian Constitution is equal to all. You RSS have to bend in front Indian Constituton. We all experienced your dirty mind and capacity during your past ruling. Karnataka is not belongs to any desk drohi it is belong to qualified patriot Indians. Your rss policy will never work out. Bengaluru, Feb 13: Veteran freedom fighter and advisor to the Karnataka Government in Education Reforms HS Doreswamy on Thursday has recommended Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to make it mandatory for MLA and MLCs to adopt at least three govt Schools in their respective constituencies.

Mr Doreswamy appealed to the Chief Minister to implement the suggestion in the State budget for 2020-21 to be presented by him on March 5.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Doreswamy, on the higher education sector, stressed the need to appoint highly qualified candidates for Vice Chancellor posts. There is no dearth of talent and eligibility in the State and authorities concerned must ensure that the right person is appointed by taking extreme care".

Udupi, Apr 29: Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha on Wednesday said that though the district was in the green zone in connection with COVID-19, there would not be any further relaxations and the lockdown would continue till May 3.

According to a statement, he said that no fresh Covid-19 cases have been reported for the past month. However, the district is not immune to the threat of the infection. Thus, the lockdown would continue till May 3 with minimum relaxation.

The district has already initiated relaxations and mandatory guidelines have to be implemented, he further said.

Mangaluru, Jul 3: Four central crime branch (CCB) police personnel tested positive for coronavirus on Friday in Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka.

So far, eighteen police personnel, including an official of the ACP rank and 12 from Ullal police station, have tested positive for Covid-19 in the district in the last few days, police sources said.

A policeman from Mangaluru Rural station and another from Puttur station have also been infected.

All the personnel who tested positive have been admitted to the designated Covid-19 hospitals.

City police commissioner Vikash Kumar Vikash said adequate protection has been provided to police personnel who were fighting the pandemic and the members of their families.

As of Thursday, the total coronavirus cases in the district stood at 923 and the toll 18 while the state's infection count has crossed the 18,000 mark with 272 deaths.
