I will quit politics if Rahul gandhi’s allegations on dairy gate proved true: Yeddyurappa

Bengaluru, Apr1: Opposition leader in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly B S Yeddyurappa, who is also BJP State President, took strong exception to AICC President Rahul Gandhi referring to alleged Dairy contents and taking his name stating he had paid Rs 1800 crore to BJP central leaders when he was the chief minister.

Rahul Gandhi while launching joint election campaign with JDS Supremo H D Devegowda here on Sunday had alleged that Yeddyurappa has stated that the Dairy that he (Yeddyurappa) had sent crores of rupees to Union Ministers Nitin Gadkeri, Arun Jaitely and Rajnath Singh, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi claims himself as 'Chowkidar' of the nation.

Taking strong exception to Rahul Gandhi's allegations, Yeddyurappa, in a statement here, said that "AICC chief Rahul Gandhi should immediately stop making irresponsible statements. Despite the officials of the IT department describing the contents of the so called diary found in Congress leader D K Shivakumar during an IT department as "fake", Rahul Gandhi referring to alleged Rs 1800 crore entry in the diary was nothing but irresponsible and unfounded allegation.

Bengaluru, Aug 5: Touted as a first of its kind in the nation, a mobile Covid-19 lab was inaugurated on Wednesday by the Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar.

The lab, approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) can do 9,000 RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) tests per month, an official press release said here. "This is a unique lab having all safety features and capable of producing 100% accurate results within four hours," Dr Sudhakar was quoted as saying in the press release.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISC) had developed the lab and handed it over to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).

The mobile lab can also be used for molecular diagnostic-testing and can be deployed in coronavirus hot spots quickly, the release said adding, apart from Covid-19, the lab can be utilised for testing H1N1, HCV, TB, HPV and HIV among others.

Mangaluru, Jan 24: Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on Friday said that a specialised task force to manage natural disasters would soon be constituted in all talukas of the Dakshina Kannada district, an official statement said here.

She further said in a meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority that during the floods last monsoon there was a shortage of boats to rescue stranded residents from flood-hit areas. Hence, more boats would be procured for the Home Guards and the Fire and Emergency Services.

She also instructed officials to make sure that schools have their own disaster management plans and also advised them to carry emergency materials kit, used during a natural disaster, in their vehicles.

Bengaluru, May 22: Amid the fourth phase of nationwide COVID-19 lockdown, inter-state travel from Karnataka is now permitted with the consent of the receiving state, informed Praveen Sood, Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) and Inspector General (IG).

"Inter-state pass is not required to go out of Karnataka as long as you have the consent of the receiving state," he said.

The order follows MHA's recent announcement of relaxed guidelines amid the nationwide lockdown.

"Due to lockdown, migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons are stranded at different places. They would be allowed to move as under," read the new guidelines while asking states to designate nodal authorities to facilitate the interstate movement.

The Centre has extended the lockdown till May 31 across the country.
