IAF helicopter deputed for Mysuru Dasara air show makes emergency landing

Srirangapatna, Oct 2: An Indian Air Force (IAF) Mi-17 helicopter deputed for an air show as part of the Mysuru Dasara celebrations made an emergency landing near Srirangapatna on Wednesday after the chopper developed a technical snag.

The IAF said that the helicopter made the emergency landing as per standard operating procedures.
No loss of life and property was reported in the incident.

"The crew of Mi-17 helicopter deputed for the Mysuru Dasara noticed a technical snag. As per standard operating procedures, they have done a precautionary landing. The rectification party will come and repair the snag," the force said in a statement.

Mysuru Dasara, Karnataka's official festival, was inaugurated on September 29 and will go on till October 8.

For the 10-day festival, the famous Mysuru Palace has been lit up with 100,000 light bulbs, making for a stunning sight. Several programmes such as a vintage car rally and an air show among others are being organised

Mangaluru, Apr 6: The city police were seen wearing personal protective equipment including eye protection on Monday, April while on lockdown duty to slow the spread of COVID-19.

City police Commissioner Harsha taking to twitter wrote, ''Specialised protection equipment, AntiContagion face shields have been issued to all policemen at the front line having the highest risk of exposure to coronavirus..
They are fighting a pandemic .. FOR YOU..Be kind to them..Comply with all legal instructions.''

Mangaluru, Apr 29: One person was arrested on charges of murdering a middle-aged couple on Wednesday in Yellinje near Kinnigoli.

The area falls under the jurisdiction of Mulky police.

Police said that the deceased were identified as Vincent D’Souza (50) and his wife Helina D’ Souza (45).

The arrested was identified as Alphonso (55). He will be sent to judicial custody, said police.

Mangaluru, Mar 29: Mosques across Karnataka are now turning into centers to create awareness against deadly coronavirus that cause Covid-19. 

The state government's board of auqaf has issued a notification to the administrations of all mosques to use their loud speakers to create awareness against the virus. 

All the mosques in the state have already suspended congregational prayers to prevent the spread of the virus.

As per the decision of the state board of auqaf, now all mosques have to play the audio clips that creates awareness against the virus in three languages. 

The clips will be played at 10 a.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. everyday.
