Bengaluru, Aug 27: Congress leader C M Ibrahim on Saturday took oath as a member of Karnataka Legislative Council. Council Chairman D H Shankarmurthy administrated the oath.
Ibrahim won the recently held byelection to the council.

COVID-19 scare: Over 1,000 people under observation in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Mar 11: With the outbreak of coronavirus, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday said that over 1,000 people in the state have been identified for observation.
"So far, 1048 people have been identified for observation. Out of which 446 samples have been sent for testing. 389 samples have tested negative. Four samples have tested positive," Chief Minister Yediyurappa told reporters.
Earlier today, Health Minister B Sriramulu said that family members of those who tested positive for COVID-19 have been isolated and their health is being monitored.

ICG enhances surveillance along Karnataka coastline

Mangaluru, Mar 23: Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on Monday announced to enhance surveillance along the coastline of Karnataka to strengthen security.
It has tasked its hovercraft in New Mangalore, and high-speed patrol vessels and interceptor boats along the coastline for ensuring foolproof security of the uninhabited islands, Deputy Inspector General S B Venkatesh, Commander, Coast Guard, Karnataka, said in a release today.
The amphibious hovercraft have been deployed for near to coast patrol, to facilitate smooth execution of search and rescue operations and security cover over land and riverine route. Please log in to get detailed story.

Mangaluru: 16 people suffering from fever, cold tested negative for COVID-19

Mangaluru, Apr 4: No positive case of coronavirus has been detected in Dakshina Kannada district as per the latest update released by the district administration on Friday.
Test results of throat swab samples of 16 people with suspected symptoms were received today and all of them were negative.
A total of 38,518 people have been screened for coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada district till date with 72 people being screened today.
