Mumbai, Apr 8: On the third day of the final arguments in Salman Khan's alleged hit- and-run case, prosecution informed the court that the conduct of the actor at the time of incident clearly showed that he was guilty.
The prosecution also informed the court that nowhere has the defence through their cross examination brought it on record that there were four people in the car when it met with an accident and not three as the prosecution claimed. The prosecution also mentioned of one of their witnesses, an RTO officer, had "intentionally tried to sabotage the case to help the defence".
Special public prosecutor advocate Pradeep Gharat told the session's court presided over by judge DW Deshpande: "It has come on record that Salman and his friend Kamaal Kha, who were in the car at the time it met with accident, escaped from the place of the incident. Unless and until the accused is guilty, he had no reason to leave the spot; rather he would have helped the victims and would have approached the police. This conduct proves the guilt of the accused."
Meanwhile, the court granted exemption to the actor in the second half of the proceedings, after the actor pleaded that he wanted to go to Udaipur for film shooting.
The prosecution is is likely to complete its final arguments in the case on Wednesday. The actor was arrested in September 2002 for his alleged involvement in the accident which killed one and injured three others when his car allegedly rammed into sleeping pavement dwellers.
