IMA holds Seerat-un-Nabi programme: Muslims urged to follow the teachings of Prophet

Kuwait: The Indian Muslim Association (IMA) in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf & Islamic Affairs organized a public lecture on Seerat-un-Nabi recently.

Addressing the gathering Dr. Yousuf Ahmed Al Sanad said that the final Prophet (PBUH) was a mercy to the mankind and a preached the message of universal brotherhood. He is a role model from all aspect for all mankind and his entire life should followed by all Muslims.

Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rahman spoke on the subject “Family life of Prophet (PBUH)”. He said that the private and family life of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) has been well documented and it was difficult to find a second person in history with so much of insight into their private life. He said that Prophet (PBUH) used to solve disputes in a way that would leave both the disputing parties satisfied.

Vice-President of IMA Sharafuddin B.S spoke on “guidelines from life of Prophet (PBUH) in present situation”. He mentioned several instances from the life of the Prophet in which the latter demonstrated immense kindness, forgiveness and restraint while dealing with companions and fellow beings. The speaker stressed that today’s Muslims should spread this message of kindness and forgiveness.

Mr. Sharafuddin also said that Islam has given a lot of importance to education which is clearly evident in the teachings of Quran and Sunnah. He said the first verse of the Quran revealed to Prophet was “Read”. He said the best investment one can make is on the education of their children, relatives and society etc.

On this occasion, Urdu translation of the famous book Fiqh-us-Sunnah was was released by Mr. Roomi Al-Roomi. Fiqh-us-Sunnah was written by Sayyid Saabiq (1915-2000 C.E.), and later translated in various languages like English, Persian, Bengali, Bosnian, Thai, Turkish, Russian, Malialum & Uzbek. This book is translated by Maulana Waliullah Majeed Qasmi a teacher of Jamiatul Falah and published by Al Manar Publishing House – New Delhi.

The Program started with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Hafiz Owais and welcome address and IMA introduction presented by IMA General Sec. Mr. Ahmed Ali. The program was convened by Shamveel Pervaz. The Program was also graced by the presence of dignitaries such as Syed Iftikar Ahmed - Vice President FIMA, Well-known philanthropist Muzammil Malik, Mohammed Ali & Ahmad Al Taravi from the Ministry of Awqaf & Islamic Affairs. IMA President Mr. Masood Shehab was also present in the dais. Huge number of expatriates participated during the occasion with their families.

On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF), Karnataka State organized a blood donation camp in Doha Qatar, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation on 31st January 2020, Friday.

At first, QISF Karnataka State Vice President, Ziaul Huq welcomed the guests, dignitaries and blood donors.

The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by ICC President Mr. Manikantan A P who was the Chief guest. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized that, Service to humanity is service to God. By donating the blood, not only we save the lives, but we get blessings also. He also said that punctuality is the key factor in these type of events and should be incorporated by all of us.

QISF Central Committee President, Sayeed Komachi highlighted the necessity and importance of donating the blood and assured QISF a socio cultural organization will always be ready for this noble cause.

Dr. Vishwantha Kini, a well known Radiologist in HMC motivated the donors.

The camp was started at    7.00 A M and ended at 5.30 PM in which 146 people donated the blood out of 185 people registered.

SKMWA President Abdul Majeed and Dr. Haroon from Asian Medical Centre, who were also the Guests in the programme praised the initiative and efforts of QISF. 

QISF Central Committee Vice President Salam Kunnamal, General Secretary Basheer Ahmed, Northern States President Fasiuddin, QISF State and Branch Committee members Lathif Madikeri, Zakariya Pandeshwar, Saleem Bangadi, Mujeebulla Khan, Nayeem Belapu, Ibrahim UB, Toufeeq, Anwar Angargundy, Rizwan Kalladka, Asif Bannur, Imtiyaz Karnad, Jaleel Kalladka, Haneef Montepadav, Rafiq Uppinangady and other members were present during the programme.

The program was presided and concluded by QISF Karnataka State President Nazeer Pasha.

Dubai, Aug 7: One may call it good luck, but for two Indian expats it was God who prevented them at the last minute from boarding the Air India Express plane that crashed in Kerala, killing at least 18 people on board.

According to India's Civil Aviation Ministry, the Boeing 737 aircraft on a flight from Dubai to Kozhikode overshot the runway at Kozhikode airport on Friday evening. There were 184 passengers including 10 infants, 2 pilots and four cabin crew onboard the aircraft.

Noufal Moin Vetten, an Ajman resident working as an office boy in a Sharjah school, was booked to travel on the flight and had checked in as per schedule.

Recounting his miraculous escape, Vetten, a resident of Malappuram, Thirunavaya, whose visa was cancelled a week ago, told Gulf News: “I was handed my boarding pass, but when I reached immigration, they told me I had to pay a fine of Dh 1,000 (Rs 20,430) for overstay. I had only Dh 500 (Rs10,215) with me.

"I called my school PRO and he told me to come back. He said they would follow protocols and pay the fines before sending me,“ he said.

Vetten was disappointed and called his family to let them know.

“When I heard about the crash, I was saddened for all the passengers. But I'm so relieved I missed it. God has been really merciful,” said Vetten.

Afsal Parrakodan, a resident of Abu Dhabi, had a similar stroke of luck.

“My work visa was cancelled about a week ago. After getting my boarding pass, I was told I had to pay a fine of Dh1,000 at the immigration counter, but I had only Dh500 on me.”

“I was very keen to board the flight and be with my family. So I called a friend who brought me the additional Dh500, but by then, my baggage had been offloaded and the flight's doors were closed,” said Parrakodan.

“I was feeling very sad and called my mother to tell her I had missed the flight. But a few hours later, when I learnt of the crash, I couldn’t help but feel relieved and thankful to God for saving my life,“ said an overwhelmed Parrakodan who plans to fly back next week.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.
