IMA investment scam: SIT team arrests BDA Assistant Engineer Kumar named by Khan

Bengaluru, July 1: Special Investigation Team police appointed to investigate into multi-crore IMA Fraud case has arrested Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) Assistant Engineer P D Kumar and raided his Residence in the City today.

IMA Fraud king pin Mohammed Mansoor Khan in his video released recently from Dubai had named P D Kumar and stated that he had given Rs 5 crore to him. The SIT team on Monday during the raid seized Cars, Mobile and several incriminating documents.

DCP Girish, member of the SIT, said that the raid was conducted on the basis of video sent by Khan to City Police Commissioner Alok Kumar recently. Many documents revealing illegal money transaction has been revealed in the documents seized and hence he was taken into custody for questioning.

6,000 chickens buried alive in Belagavi as prices drop

Belagavi, Mar 10: Around 6,000 chickens were buried alive by some poultry farm owners here as the rate of flesh in the market dropped even below the cost price due to Coronavirus scare.

The poultry farm who buried the chickens on Monday evening belonged to Lolasuru village in Gokak Taluk of the district.

One of the owners, Nazir Makandar, said that there was no demand for chicken because of threat of Coronavirus.

Shutting of private clinics by doctors amid corona scare inhuman, says Siddaramiah

Bengaluru, Apr 7: Former Minister and Leader of the Opposition Siddaramiah on Tuesday termed the shutting by private clinics in the state by doctors as an 'inhuman act'.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the Congress leader said due to the fear of Novel Coronavirus, the doctors have closed their private clinics, which was against their profession.

This has affected the people, especially those, who are suffering from other deceases. He urged Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa to intervene and resolve the issue immediately.

Despite the government instructions not to close down their clinics, the doctors have not been responding positively, Mr Siddaramaiah noted.

In this connection, the government should act seriously and give necessary warning to the doctors, to either open their clinics to serve the people, or face action, he added.

Leopard drags 5-yr-old boy into forest, kills him

Tumkur, Jan 10: A five-year-old boy has been killed by a leopard in Gubi taluk of Tumkuru district in Karnataka.

The local police said today that the incident took place on Thursday evening when the boy was returning home along with his grandmother.

The leopard first attacked a cow and then the boy who was behind it. The feline dragged the body into the forest.

After a search operation by the forest officials, the body was found and handed over to the parents after post-mortem.
