Bagalkot, May 3: India will become free of Congress only on account of Rahul Gandhi, Union Minister Ananth Kumar has said.

Campaigning for Murugesh Nirani, the BJP candidate from Bilgi on Wednesday, Union Minister Ananth Kumar said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has not declared his Rs 70-lakh watch while filing nomination from Badami.

“This is the fraud played by him on the people of the state,” he said. Accusing the Congress government of not ensuring regular power supply to farmers, Ananth Kumar said that the government looked the other way even though as many as 3,500 farmers ended their lives in the state.

First case of coronavirus found in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Mar 9: The first case of Nov Corona patient was found in Karnataka with a 40 year-old Software Engineer, who returned from US, developing fever today at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in the City. This is the first case reported in the State.

Disclosing this to newsmen, Karnataka Minister for Medical Education Dr K Sudhakar said that the techie, his wife and their one child arrived from US on Feb 28 and were under observation.

He said that there were no indication or any symptoms immediately after their arrival and also for the first four days, but on March 5 the Techie developed fever and today (Monday) it was confirmed that he is suffering from the killer disease.

Irked by Hegde remarks against Gandhi, BJP asks him to take 'remedial' measures

New Delhi, Feb 3: BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde's swipe at Mahatma Gandhi has irked the top party leadership and he may be forced to apologise, party sources said on Monday.

A senior BJP leader said the Karnataka leader's comments were "condemnable" and the party leadership is upset with him.

"The party has conveyed its displeasure to him and asked him to take remedial measure. Any insult to Mahatma Gandhi is unacceptable," he said.

Hegde, a former Union minister, reportedly claimed at an event in Bangaluru that the entire freedom movement was staged with the consent and support of the British, and the independence movement led by Gandhi was a "drama".

He also wondered why the Father of the Nation was called 'Mahatma' (a great soul).

The party leader said the Lok Sabha MP is a "disciplined" member of the party and will do what he has been asked to.

Hegde, known for hardline Hindutva leanings, has a history of making controversial remarks.

Mangaluru: Massive protest against CAA, NPR, NRC held at Kudroli

Mangaluru, Feb 25: The coastal city of Mangaluru today witnessed yet another major agitation against infamous CAA, NPR and NRC with large number of people gathering at Kudroli’s Tipu Sultan Garden to register their protest against union government’s racist policies.

Addressing the gathering activist B R Bhaskar Prasad said, he knows the RSS inside out as he was associated with it for a prolonged period.

He said the ultimate aim of RSS is to establish a casteist society in India with the micro-minority community of Brahmins having complete control over all other major communities.

Lambasting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for constantly harassing people of India through back to back contentious legislations, he said that the duo poised to destroy the country.
