Indian Social Forum observes 89th Saudi National Day

Dammam: Indian Social Forum celebrated the 89th Saudi National Day on Tuesday marked the important of social and cultural exchanges in between Saudi society and Indian community.

Mr. Saeed Ahmed, Saudi national Advocate, inaugurated the event. He said that the bilateral relationship between Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and India has been prospering and benefiting both the nations. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia set out with positive actions, “Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030”, was adopted as a methodology and roadmap for economic and developmental action in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In its aim to grant the Kingdom a leading position in all fields. And he express thanks to the Indian community being a part of celebrating 89th Saudi National day.

Mr. Tahir Hyderabad, Secretary, Indian Social Forum, Central Committee, said being the largest expatriate community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Indians honestly consider Saudi Arabia as their ‘second home. The Indian community in Saudi Arabia has been well accepted at all echelons of the Saudi society and regarded as a community that is vital to the development of the country. Both countries are enjoying friendly relationship. And he extended his congratulations to the Kingdom’s leadership and Saudi society.

Mr. Abdusalam Master, General Secretary of India Fraternity Forum, Eastern Province, offer bouquet to the chief guest Advocate Saed Ahmad. Mr. Ashraf Puthoor, General Secretary of Indian Social Forum, welcomed the guests and gathering, he explained the vision and work of Indian Social Forum.

Mr. Masoor Shah of Hyderabad, Mr. Shernas Ashraf of Kerala, Mr. Salahudheen of Karnataka, Mr. Habeeb of Tamilnadu, Nameer Cheruvadi of Kerala were also invited as Guests and spoke on this occasion.

Markaz Al Madeena Association, Eastern province, conducted JALS-E-UCHILA get together program at Dammam, Saudi Arabia on March 5,2020 on account of celebrating 28 years of social service dedicated by the organization.

The event chairman Noushad Uchil inaugurated the function. The organization president presided the program and delivered talk about the intention of the organization. Hashim Uchil has intorduced the social and academic contribution of the organization of past 28 years. Jamal Uchil welcomed the gathering and Ismail G.I. host the program.

Games, Quiz and prize distribution to the winners and senior social workers was the special attraction of the event. The planning committee of the event includes Iqbal, Farooq, Shahul Hameed, Ramza, Nabeel, Afthar, Ashraf and Shafi.

The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.

Kuwait: Eid is usually a time of family get-togethers and feasts after weeks of dawn-to-dusk fasting. But this year people celebrated at home, with virus fears dampening the holiday spirit and strict restrictions in place.

Kuwait went under full curfew before the start of Ramadan leaving people to practice fasting and Ramadan rituals at home, Even Eid al-Fitr came under full lock-down period.

As situation demanded, IMA Kuwait celebrated the Eid Get-together online via video conferencing tool, All IMA members participated joyfully in Eid Milan online gathering which was scheduled immediately after Eid prayer. Members participated and congratulated each other on the eve of Eid.

The IMA president Shamvel Parviz addressed the gathering and thanked them for joining online for this unique Eid celebration which will be remembered in history. He also advised members to be aware of conditions of neighbors, friends and family and assist them if they need help in this difficult time.

Eid al-Fitr follows weeks of fasting and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims all over Kuwait followed strict guideline and performed Eid prayer at home along with their family.

As a part of social service activities IMA also distributed ration kits before start of Ramadan and during Ramadan for needy people all over Kuwait.
