IT officials raid three Karnataka MLCs including CM's Political Secretary

Bengaluru, Mar 15: Income Tax Department has conducted raids on the residences of three Legislative Council Members, including the residence of Political Secretary to Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, on Tuesday morning in Bengaluru, according to TV reports.

Income tax sleuths have raided the house of Political secretary to Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah MLC Govindaraju and an Independent MLC D U?Mallikarjun.

Also, JD (S) MLC C R Manohar, who is producing Rs 100 crore Kannada flick ''Kali'' came under the IT lens early morning.

Udupi district on high alert after bomb discovery at MIA

Udupi, Jan 22: Udupi district authorities was on high alert following the bomb detected at Mangalore International Airport (MIA).

Udupi railway police said that security had been strengthened in all the railway stations, including Padubudri, Senapur, Barkur, Kundapur and Indrali in the district.

The police in mufti and uniform were on constant beats in the railway stations. Besides, dog squads and bomb detection squads have been deputed in the railways stations, they said.

Karnataka orders sanction of leave for teachers, students having symptoms of COVID-19

Bengaluru, Mar 2: The Karnataka Department of Public Instruction has directed the School heads across the State to grant leave to students and staff suffering from fever, cold, cough and other respiratory infections.

As precautionary measure following the COVID-19 (known as coronavirus) outbreak at the global level, the department issued a circular in this regard here on Monday.

If any student, teacher or staff is suffering from respiratory infections, they should be granted leave. They should be allowed to come back to school only after confirming from the doctor that they are cured, the circular added.
