Jamiyyatul Falah, Greenview School/College hold 3-day annual sports meet

Mangaluru, Dec 14: Jamiyyatul Falah, a charity organization, organised a 3-day annual sports meet from Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Greenview sports ground at Adkare Padpu, Konaje.

The event started with a positive note from School/college Principal Aboobaker who welcomed the dignitaries. JFCC treasurer Ibrahim Kodijal was the presiding officer for the event. He hoisted the flag and took the salute from the cadets of school’s four houses. In his presidential speech, he stressed to give importance to sports for the growth of mind and body.

A B Hassainar inaugurated the sports event. Jamiyyatul Falah Administrator Distinguished Toastmaster Shameer Ahmed Kudroli emphasized that such event will boost the confidence in students and sports will play vital role in shaping up the students to become leaders in future. Al Ihsan Youth association President and old student association Secretary M.C. Siraj Adkarepadpu spoke in the event. Primary school head teacher Mrs. Evlin D Ivan, social worker Mohammed and school development committee members were also present on the dais.

Old student associate vice president Mustafa received the guard of honour. Vice President of Sneha Deepa Mrs.Thabssum who were also the former student of the school received the torch flam from sports captain as a symbol to commence the event. Panchayath members Mrs. Thahira and Mrs. Flevi were also present in the event.

The event has taken forward by the children marching in their sports uniform which made the event more colourful, besides being spectacular, there is something inexplicably inspiring about a march fast was a sense of dignity and pride the cadets bring to it. A well-coordinated march-fast was a feast to the eyes and ears where coupled with some string marching music.

Thousands of students have come out of the school after passing the matriculation and pursued higher education in pre-university college till now. At present the school has 310 students and 14 teaching staff.  The primary school students’ get midday meal and milk under midday meal & Ksheera Bhagya scheme of the Karnataka Government. However JF provide these facilities to high school and college students as well. In addition, the children are being provided with books and other requirements free of cost.

The schools have assumed a proactive role in the community development by educating parents and local residents on sanitation, hygiene, value of education and such other issues of public importance.

Mangaluru, Mar 4: With an objective to create awareness among children about the importance of consumption of fruits in regular diet, First Steps Pre-School, Kudroli, celebrated Fruits Day on Friday 28th February 2020 with fun and frolic.

The tiny tots of preschool celebrated Fruit Day. Children, representing the fruits of their choice sang the fruit rhymes with great zest, enthusiasm and vigour, enjoying the moments of joy and happiness in the company of their mates & teachers.

Teachers had made interesting and simple stories on encouraging children to have fruits in their meals. The teachers also explained the importance of fruits’ intake in diet for mental and physical growth. The tiny tots also learned more about the taste, smell,

color and texture of each fruit. Children clearly understood the importance of washing the fruits before eating or cooking and about the benefits of eating fresh fruits.

All the children were found to be quite thrilled and were positive on the fact that fruits are better than junk food.

The head teacher Himna S. Ahmed, teacher Azeema and Master Shehzan S. Ahmed arranged the event in an impressive manner which added feather to the event.

The event magnificently concluded with fruit feast for the kids of pre-school.

Mangaluru, Jan 2: Shwetha Rasquinha, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Social Work, St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, has been awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree by the Mangalore University for her thesis titled “Effectiveness of Social work intervention on caretakers of cancer patients- A social work study in Mangalore”.

She did her studies under the guidance of Dr Rameela Shekhar, Professor (Rtd), School of Social work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru.

Ms Shwetha Rasquinha hails from Vittal, D/o Vincent Rasquinha and Late Regina Rasquinha, and is the second person to complete doctoral studies from the Vittal Parish.

Her colleagues and well-wishers have congratulated her for her highest achievement in academics and successful completion of quality research.

Mangaluru: COVID-19 has disrupted the traditional academic year.  Due to the on-going pandemic situation and the financial crisis, the management of The Shepherds' International Academy, Mangalore (TSIA) has decided to reduce the annual school fees by 50% for the academic year 2020-21.

In a media release, TSIA correspondent stated that even though the school hasn't met the regular operating expenses, the management's decision is for the benefit of the communities.

The correspondent also informed that TSIA will start online classes  on receipt of the official nod from the Govt. Educational department.
