Bengaluru, Jun 6: With the mounting pressure from the JD(S) leaders and workers, not to press for acceptance of his resignation, former Karnataka Minister H Vishwanath is expected to withdraw his resignation tendered a couple of days back and continue to steer the party in the State.
Speaking to newsmen, former JD(S) MLA and JD(S) State Campaign Committee Chairman Y S V Datta expressed confidence that Vishwanath will rescind his decision to quit as the state party president.
Maintaining that party is passing through a crucial phase and in the present situation there is a grave need for strong guidance to steer through the difficult times, he said that "Thousands of party workers wish Vishwanath to continue as the President".
He said that several senior leaders including Party supremo H D Devegowda and others are trying to convince Vishwanath to continue as the state party president.
On June 4 Vishwanath tendered his resignation owning moral responsibility for the party's debacle in the recently held Lok Sabha election.
