JD(U) complains to Lokayukta against Ambareesh

Mandya May 31: JD(U) district president B S Gowda has lodged a complaint to Lokayukta against Mandya MLA and former minister M?H Ambareesh on Tuesday.Ambareesh

In his complaint, Gowda stated that Ambareesh has failed to solve the problems faced by the people of his constituency and is continuously absenting himself from the Assembly sessions.

He has alleged that Ambareesh has failed to use the opportunity provided by the people, hoping that he would strive for overall development of the Mandya constituency. “He was dropped from the Cabinet due to his failure in performing his duties.

Upset over this, Ambareesh stopped visiting the constituency and abstained from the legislature sessions. It is against the spirit of the Constitution. Hence, legal action should be taken against him,” he said.

Bengaluru, Mar 13: In the wake of coronavirus outbreak, Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa has summoned an emergency meeting with ministers and senior officials on Friday to discuss the situation.

The schools, malls and other public places have been shut to control the spread of the deadly virus.

Schools in the state have announced early summer vacation for their students this academic year as a precautionary measure amid Covid-19 scare.

Bengaluru, Jun 25: State-run Kumara Krupa Guest House in the city will be used as 100-bed COVID-19 treatment center for the designated category patients, Karnataka Health Department Sources said here on Thursday.

According to official sources, one wing of the Guest House with 100-bed rooms of individual occupancy having all the facilities is reserved to work as Covid Care Center (CCC) and it will be used for Ministers, MPs, MLAs/MLCs, Senior officers of above Secretary rank for clinical management.

The total number of positive cases reported till date in the State has increased to 10,118, the sources added.

Udupi, May 18: As many as eight fresh coronavirus positive cases have been reported in coastal districts of Udupi and Uttara Kannada. 

No fresh positive case was reported in Dakshina Kannada since yesterday.

According to Health and Family Welfare Department, two men aged 38 and 24 years, an 8-year-old boy and a 24-year-old woman tested positive for coronavirus in Udupi district today. 

All of them were under quarantine after returning from Maharashtra recently. They were shifted to covid-19 hospital for treatment. With this the number of covid-19 positive cases in Udupi district mounted to 15.

Meanwhile, Uttara Kannada district also received a jolt with four more cases. Yesterday it had reported eight cases.
