Mysuru, May 26: A 43-year-old techie murdered his wife and daughter before attempting to kill himself at his residence in Vijayanagar Fourth Stage, here on the eve of his 12th wedding anniversary.

According to the police, Prajwal was under depression as he lost his job after the company locked out. Even Savitha resigned from her job. According to sources, joblessness had destroyed peace in their family.

Police said that on May 23 Prajwal killed Savitha by slitting her throat during the fight at their house in Basavanahalli. Minutes later, he went to his in-laws’ house in KHB Colony where their daughter Sinchana was playing with friends. He brought her home, killed her on the ground floor and shifted her body to a room upstairs by evening.

Prajwal spent the night with the bodies of his wife and daughter. He left home on Thursday morning and returned late in the evening with a pesticide bottle. “On the night of his 12th wedding anniversary, i.e. on May 24, he decided to kill himself. Unable to drink pesticide, he cut his throat and wrist. Later, he called his father seeking help,” police said.

It was around 1am that his father Ramachandra rushed home and shifted Prajwal to Apollo Hospital. Ramachandra called the control room and the cops reached the crime scene at 2.30am. “Prajwal is out of danger. He will remain in the ICU under observation for some time,” said police, quoting the doctors.

Cops suspect a financial issue could have triggered the fight between the couple. Family sources said the two had purchased their Basavanahalli home for Rs 90 lakh in 2017 and moved to Mysuru recently as they could not get suitable jobs in Bengaluru. Their daughter was studying in Class 4 at a private school in Mysuru.

Kill the criminal by hanging in public. Non-sense. Why the hell he killed his wife & innocent baby. He killed them without mercy and when it comes to his term he called his father for help.

Why people die for money money money. Money is not everything. We need little bit of food to fill our belly. Why more people from Hindu community take these extreme step. I think they need regular classes of Vedas / Puranas like Muslims get their basic education in Madrasas. Islam teaches self killing is forbidden.

Dear Chaddis, instead of making Anti-social activities, please make some arrangements to your own people to learn about Hindu scriptures and encourage them.

Bengaluru, Apr 20: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday held a meeting with State Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai and police officers over the Padarayanapura incident that occurred on Sunday.

A ruckus erupted in Padarayanapura on Sunday allegedly over shifting of suspected COVID-19 persons to quarantine facility by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials.

"I met the Chief Minsiter and briefed him. CM has told us to act strictly. I have told the same to my officials. We won't tolerate such acts by anyone. We have arrested 59 people and five FIRs have been registered. I'm going to Padarayanapura now. Will make sure others are quarantined," said Bommai earlier today after meeting the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, reacting on the incident, former Karnataka Chief Minister and Janata Dal-Secular leader HD Kumaraswamy said that the people responsible must be dealt with proper action.

"These kinds of incidents are not acceptable, its an act of shame. Doesn't matter which community one belongs to, each and every one must follow the guidelines and law. Whoever is indulged in such act must be punished," he said.
In a series of tweet Kumaraswamy said that it was not at all needed to attack the police check post and this act is unacceptable.

The incident occurred in the late evening on Sunday at Padarayanapura which is recognized as a 'Red Zone' when BBMP officials went to bring 15 secondary contacts of corona positive patients.

However, some people and youth created ruckus and broke the barricades and removed police post which was stalled in the area.
Soon after receiving the information, Bengaluru South Deputy Commissioner of Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
"Lockdown continues, please remain indoors.

Tomorrow will be as it was till today. We Understand your situation and appreciate your cooperation," tweeted Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City, Bhaskar Rao.

In Karnataka, 390 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19, of which 16 people have succumbed to the infection, as per the Union Health Ministry.

Assan, Feb 9: Coming down heavily on Amit Shah, JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda said that the Union Home Minister is dreaming of a Hindu nation. Addressing the crowd at an anti-CAA/NRC rally in Hassan, he said that the Home Minister has forgotten that India is a secular, multi-lingual country.

“Shah cannot make India into a Hindu nation. People should come forward and oppose the Acts in the interest of peace and welfare of the nation,” the former PM said, urging secular leaders to unite and fight against the undemocratic policies put forth by the Centre.

“Only secular forces can protect minorities by taking to the streets,” he said. Talking about the controversy around former Union minister Anant Kumar Hegde’s statements, Gowda said BJP leaders are airing anti-national comments, which is disturbing peace. “Muslims, Christians and Hindus should unite to fight against the BJP’s unilateral decisions.”
