Jubail chapter of Bearys Chamber of Commerce & Industry launched

Jubail, Nov 23: The Jubail chapter of Bearys Chamber of Commerce and Industry was launched in the presence of around 200 prominent Beary businessmen and industrialists in a formal programme at the auditorium of Intercontinental Hotel, here on Thursday, November 21.

Delegates from India and UAE too were part of the event apart from Beary businessmen from different parts of Saudi Arabia including Jubail, Dammam and Al-Khobar.

BCCI president SM Rashid Haji, who presided over the ceremony, formally inaugurated the Jubail chapter by playing a video. Speaking on the occasion, he threw light on the significance of BCCI.

He said that the launch of Dubai and Jubail chapters of BCCI indicates its popularity and significance beyond India. He hoped that in the days to come BCCI may grow to such an extent that it may create 50 lakh job opportunities.

Giving a pep talk to the businessmen, BCCI executive committee member Khasim said that one should not ignore moral values and principles while doing business and spending money.

Another BCCI executive committee member Asif Amaco made a presentation about the need of building a strong network wherein he urged Beary businessmen to come together and cooperate for each other’s growth.

BCCI General Secretary Imthiyaz explained about the activities and achievements of BCCI.

The programme commenced with the recitation of Quranic aayaat by Aqil Farooq followed by its translation Daanish Ahmed. Basheer NCMS welcomed. Farooq Asisco proposed vote of thanks. Mohammad Fairzo, Danish and Nayaz Kaisar compered the programme.

BCC vice president Zakariya Muzain, BCCI Dubai chapter president SM Basheer, and BCCI member Ashraf Expertise also spoke on the occasion. Beary entrepreneurs Abdul Rauoof Puthige, Sheikh Expertise, Mansoor, Mumtaz Ali, Iftikhar UT, Abdul Razzak Bahrain, Abdul Hameed Kuwait and Abdullah Monu Qatar were present among others.

i hav heard about BCC only when they do functions like this. i hav not heard about stories of how they have improved a life of a unemployed youth or how they have helped a poor person to establish business. I think BCC must enlighten about their activities. Also probably enlighten the masses about how such functions and airfare's for mlore to jubail flights are being funded. The basic point is that peoples money should not be wasted just for a photo op or  giving platform to some business people. Rather educate our business people about good ethics in business. To clear all their bank loans, to complete all pending projects on time

Mangaluru, Jan 26: Minister for Muzrai, Inland Water Transport, Port and Fisheries Kota Srinivas Poojary in his Republic Day address praised the Dakshina Kannada district and Mangaluru city units of Karnataka police.

Poojary, also district in-charge minister, was speaking after unfurling the National flag as a part of 71st Republic Day celebrations held at Nehru Maidan in the city on Sunday.

He said that the police department had been successful in tackling the challenges posed by anti-social elements to the law and order situation from time to time.

He also lauded the police department for effectively handling the recent bomb threat incident at Mangalore International Airport.

He said, the state government is committed to protect the welfare of the oppressed and backward classes, minority, women, farmers, differently abled and the elderly.

“People from all these sections are guaranteed government benefits in one way or the other,’’ the minister said and called upon the people to strive towards social harmony and to help the departments concerned in keeping anti-social elements away.

The state government will release its share of Rs 4,000 to the farmers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana, to which Central government has credited Rs 6,000 per eligible farmer. As many as 1,33,247 farmers are benefited by the scheme in the district, the minister said.

Stating that the coastal region of Karnataka has been placed in the ninth position in the country in fisheries, Poojary said that the coastal line of Karnataka, comprising backwaters and inland water, houses immense resource for fishes.

“Thrust will be laid on boat tourism and development of ports in the coastal districts,’’ he said.

The minister, meanwhile, said that the state government had implemented various programmes for the development of fishermen community.

“Loans to the tune of Rs 60.54 crore availed by 23,000 women belonging to fishing community will be waived. Diesel subsidies amounting to Rs 28.09 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of owners of 954 mechanized boats during the year 2019-20. As many as 2,500 houses have been sanctioned under Matsyashraya scheme,’’ Poojary said.

Dakshina Kannada district has incurred a loss of Rs 893 crore during the recent floods. Financial assistance has been extended to 1,914 families affected by the floods to buy essential commodities, he said.

Services recognised

The minister thanked the Central government for announcing Padma Vibhushan awards to late Vishwesha Theertha Swami and George Fernandez and Padma Shri award to Harekala Hajabba.

‘’The selfless services to the nation by these stalwarts have been recognised,’’ he said. Educationist Harekala Hajabba was felicitated on the occasion.

Zilla Panchayat President Meenakshi Shanthigodu, MLAs D Vedavyas Kamath, Dr Y Bharat Shetty and U T Khader, MLCs Ivan D’Souza and S L Bhoje Gowda were present. Various troupes conducted march past on the occasion. Schoolchildren took part in cultural programmes.

Riyadh, Jan 28: The celebration of the 71st Republic Day was held on January 26th by the Central Committee of the Indian Social Forum Riyadh at the Ramada Hotel Auditorium in Riyadh. People from different Indian states and different religious backgrounds were present during the event.

The program was inaugurated with the unity song, Saleem Moulavi– Regional committee member India Fraternity Forum/Riyadh inaugurated the program.

Social Forum Central Committee president Janab Harris Mangaluru chaired the program and welcomed the guests. In his presidential speech he described and uncovered stories of freedom struggle and participants of Indian Muslims for the freedom fight. He urged everyone to fight against unconstitutional Citizenship Amendment Bill which passed by Centre government. He said that the We will continue its agitation against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the NRC and would not relent unless the Union government withdrew the Act.

Indian Social Forum Karnataka State Committee member Janab Mohammed Naveed delivered the Republic Day message. He said India was formed based on concept of ‘unity in diversity’ and it becomes every Indians’ responsibility to safeguard it. He expressed concern over CAA, NRC and NPR. Across India, students at other universities are against the Citizenship Amendment Act passed by Centre government.  The law offers amnesty to undocumented migrants from three neighboring Muslim-majority countries but only if they are non-Muslim. Critics say that by excluding Muslims, the law establishes a religious test for Indian citizenship, in violation of the secularism enshrined in India's constitution. The Indians, irrespective of caste, creed, religion and region have firmly resolved to oppose the draconian laws and fascist moves to debar the poor. Constitution granted to every person and citizen of India who are not ready to put them on a test of ideology of RSS and programs of BJP to implement the Brahmanist mind-set. He said that the police atrocities against CAA/NRC/NPR protesters had increased only in BJP-ruled States and  there were several loose ends in the police story about the incidents leading to the firing.

New Delhi, Mar 21: Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Minister B. Sriramulu on Saturday informed that one more person was tested positive for the coronavirus in the state.

He said that a total of 16 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in the state so far.

The victim had come from Mecca and was kept in quarantine facility by the state authorities.

"For a 32-year-old man, who had just returned from a trip to Mecca has found COVID-19 positive. The infection has been confirmed. He has already been treated at an isolated ward of the hospital. Citizens must not have any sort of anxiety," tweeted Sriramulu.

Also, the news and public relations department, the Indian Red Cross Society and the Karnataka State Labour Studies Institute have invited volunteers for the programme to provide real-time information to people to avoid spreading rumours and misinformation about coronavirus.

At least four volunteers will work in four shifts per day in each taluk of the state. There are about 120 volunteers in Bengaluru city and about 3,000 Corona Warriors are expected to register from across the state. Over 400 volunteers have registered via online application on the first day.
