New Delhi, Apr 6: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government’s event to launch the anti-corruption helpline on Sunday came in for strong criticism from Congress, which showed pictures of VIP boards placed at the event and said “in 50 days Aam Aadmi has become VIP”.

Delhi Congress Chief Ajay Maken posted a picture showing VIP parking and VVIP boards outside Talkatora stadium where AAP chief and Delhi Chief Minster Arvind Kejriwal launched the anti-corruption helpline.

“Just passed through the Talkatora Stadium- Look at the pictures- How in just 50 days AAP became a party of VIP&VVIP?” he tweeted.

Slamming Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) members subscribing to the “VIP tradition” which they had once denounced, Maken said, “I was passing close to Talkatora stadium, when I saw VIP board outside the venue. I moved ahead and spotted a VVIP sign board. Only in 50 days Aam Aadmi has become VIP.”

“This is the same party which said that they will end VIP culture but now they themselves are making entry by placing VIP boards,” he said.

The event was attended by all Delhi Ministers, MLAs and senior government employees.

“They have made their MLA super-MLAs by nominating their 21 MLAs as parliamentary secretary. This has not happened anywhere in this country. They are betraying the people of the city,” Maken alleged.

The stadium was filled to its capacity with 3,000 people, even as hundreds thronged outside.

Jan 30: BJP leader and West Bengal party head, Dilip Ghosh has yet again made a controversial statement. He said that one has to go to jail in order to gain respect or become a political leader.

"You will not be a leader if you don't go to jail, if Police don't take you, then you must go there yourself. If they don't give you any scope, you do something to go to jail, only then will people respect you. There is no place for soft people in politics," ANI quoted Ghosh as saying.

Earlier, Ghosh had triggered a controversy by saying that anti-CAA protestors in Assam and Uttar Pradesh were shot dead "like dogs", and similar punishment should be given to protestors in Bengal.
