Udupi, Oct 25: The Dalita-Damanitara Swabhimani Horata Samiti has urged the Udupi district administration to take legal action against organisers and participants of the controversialKanaka Nade' for violating the rules and glorifying casteism.

Shyamraj Birti, district convener of the samiti, who submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner T Venkatesh, here on Monday, said that though the district administration had denied permission for theKanaka Nade', the Yuva Brigade organised it on public property and a launching ceremony was also held at the Car Street here on October 23.

He said that action should be taken not only against Chakravarti Sulibele of the Yuva Brigade, but also against Vishwesha Tirtha Swami of Paryaya Pejawar Mutt and Pramila Nesargi, BJP leader for participating in the event in violation of DC's order.

The samiti had withdrawn its ownSwabhimani Nade,' which it intended to hold on the same day after Superintendent of Police K.T. Balakrishna urged them to do so in the interest of maintaining law and order.

The Yuva Brigade had earlier said that they would clean all the streets of Udupi, which were “polluted” after the samiti had held aChalo Udupi' programme on October 9. TheKanaka Nade' was an extension of this programme, and amounted to practice of untouchability. Hence, a case under Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act should be booked against Mr. Sulibele.

Some leaders of the Udupi unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Vilas Nayak), Bajrang Dal (Dinesh Mendon), Yuva Brigade (Vasudeva Bhat), the founder of Sri Rama Sene, Pramod Muthalik and former MLA, K. Raghupati Bhat, had given false statements that the samiti wanted to lay siege to the Sri Krishna Mutt/Temple.

The administration book a case against these individuals under the Goonda Act, the memorandum said. Mr. Venkatesh promised the office-bearers of the samiti that he would look into the demands made in the memorandum. Sundar Master, Vishwanath Pethri, samiti leaders, and G. Rajashekhar and K. Phaniraj, writers, were present.

Many Hindus are not aware of their scriptures which says Worship only ONE GOD and dont worship images and pictures and other objects which is lifeless and helpless.

Pejawar should not hide this truth to people. He should explain the TRUTH of NA TASYA PRATIMA ASTI (there is no likeness of GOD) Svetasvatara Upanishad...
Many people who dont read VEDAS are worshiping the stones, animals and other things cos of their ignorance in NA TASYA PrATIMA ASTI...

God made MAN intelligent than his other CREATION and
Intelligent brains will recognize this and try to know wat is the truth behind NA TASYA PRATImA ASTI>
Ekam Evadvitiyam - He is the only ONE without a second (Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1)1
Shudaham Poapvidham - He is body-less and Pure (yajurveda 40:9)7

Recognize this deception of the ages and come out of DARKness and The CREATOR will show U the Light when his CREATION's intention is RIGHT.

Bengaluru, Jan 24: The JD(S) is looking to leverage anti-Citizen (Amendment) Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) sentiment sweeping the country to revive itself and will hold protests in Bengaluru and New Delhi.

The Bengaluru protest is scheduled for Friday. At a meeting of party workers in Bengaluru on Thursday, party patriarch HD Deve Gowda and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy urged the rank and file to participate in the rally to send out a loud and clear message to the BJP.

"The BJP has set out to make Muslims second-grade citizens. India has 40 crore Muslims, can these communal forces eliminate them all?" Gowda said in his address. "We should have the guts to launch a massive protest at Jantar Mantar. We should be prepared to go to jail in the fight against [Prime Minister] Narendra Modi and [Union home minister] Amit Shah."

Gowda said he will lead the rally in Delhi and urged secular parties to unite to take on the BJP. "It is important that regional parties, which share a secular ideology, unite on a common agenda and fight the BJP. Bihar, Kerala and Odisha have said they will not implement CAA. The sentiment is likely to spread to other states," Gowda said.

Kumaraswamy said not only Muslims but many other communities will also bear the brunt of BJP’s "divisive politics". "This pair of Hakka-Bukka [Modi and Shah] is not targeting Muslims alone," he said. "For them, all communities other than upper caste Hindus are inferior Shudras. They will treat even Lingayats, Vokkaligas and Dalits with the same contempt."

The former CM made a special appeal to Lingayats, who generally back the BJP, to stop supporting the saffron party’s caste-oriented politics. "You had appreciated my farm loan waiver scheme and promised support in the elections. But, the results were contrary to that," he said.

The JD(S) passed three resolutions including one to condemn the Centre for enacting CAA. The others were to protest against the Centre’s indifference to the floods in the state and the failed economic policy of the Centre.

Bengaluru, May 28: The Karnataka government has done away with previously mandatory COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic international travellers.

The development comes a day after the government issued a circular, which allowed placing of international travellers into home quarantine if they had completed seven days of institutional quarantine.

A circular signed by Jawaid Akhtar, Additional Chief Secretary to the State Government, dated May 27, says that any “person who has completed seven days of institutional quarantine and is asymptomatic can be permitted for home quarantine with a COVID-19 test (RT-PCR), subject to undergoing a medical check-up.”

This check-up equates to thermal screening (with a required temperature of under 37.5C or 99.5F and pulse oximetry of under 94%).

The circular added that all elderly people, over the age of 60, and those with comorbidities (such as Diabetes mellitus, hypertension, asthma, heart ailment, renal disease...etc) are “required to be clinically evaluated diligently prior to shifting them for quarantine.”

On Wednesday, Pankaj Pandey, Commissioner, the Department of Health and Family Welfare said that these new guidelines were based on recommendations from the COVID Task Force. A member of the COVID Task Force said that new strategies had been formulated based on the latest findings on how the SARS-Cov-2 virus affects people.

Bengaluru, Jul 26: Paying tributes to the martyrs of Kargil war on its 21st anniversary, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Sunday said his government always stood by the soldiers and families of those who laid down their lives to protect the borders of the country.

"The government is always committed to the welfare of the soldiers. Karnataka has formed a separate department for the welfare of the soldiers and their families. We always stand with the families of the martyred soldiers," he said. He was addressing soldiers after paying tributes to the martyrs of the Kargil war at an official function organised on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas at the National Military Memorial Park in the city by the Sainik Welfare and Resettlement Department under the state Home Department.

Yediyurappa described as a symbol of India's valour and sacrifices the Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed to commemorate its victory over Pakistan in the war that ended on July 26, 1999 with recapture of the territory in Kargil. He said the state government has given due compensation to the families of the Kargil martyrs and the soldiers who were injured.

Recalling the conflict, Yediyurappa said Pakistan had set its eyes on grabbing the vast terrains of Kargil and Drass sector in Jammu and Kashmir but the Indian soldiers successfully fought a deadly battle at a height of 17,000 feet where the temperature goes up to minus 30 degrees celsius.

"The sacrifices of our soldiers will remain etched in our memories forever. The tale of the 527 soldiers, who sacrificed their lives to save our country, is a constant source of inspiration for our youth," the Chief Minister said. He also noted Karnataka's contributions to the Indian army and said the state had given two Generals, one Field Marshall, many army officers and innumerable soldiers to protect the country's borders.
