Bengaluru, Oct 22: The self-proclaimed saviors of the language, culture and land of Karnataka, who had succeeded in cancelling the New Year’s scheduled show of actress Sunny Leone in Bengaluru, this time have booked as many as 235 tickets for show in the city.

The porn star-turned-Bollywood super star, will perform live for the first time in Karnataka on November 3. The show will be held at a hotel in Manyata Tech Park, near Nagawara on Outer Ring Road of Bengaluru.

According to sources the activists of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KaRaVe) have bought 235 tickets for the show. With this, the show is likely to witness chaos and intense protests against Sunny Leone.

Confirming the plan to protest at the venue, Harish, KaRaVe youth wing state president said that as long as Sunny Leone is part of the movie Veeramahadevi, they would protest against her wherever she goes.

“We love seeing Sunny sing and dance to Kannada songs. That is the reason we have blocked 235 tickets online. But we just cannot accept her enacting the role of the greatest queen of Kannada, because of her past roles in blue films. As long as she continues in the movie, wherever she goes, we will protest against her. The protests will not be confined only to Bengaluru, but other parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu as well,” Harish said.

At a protest on Monday, in front of the Town Hall, against Sunny enacting the role of Veera Mahadevi, KaRaVe youth wing activists slit their wrists to convey the message: “We will give blood, but not allow Sunny act the role in the film.”

Shivamogga, Aug 9: Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi on Saturday virtually inaugurated Malgudi Museum at Arasalu in Karantaka's Shivamogga.

The old station building at Arasalu has been converted into museum.
BJP MP from Shivamogga BY Raghavendra said that the old station building at Arasalu has been renovated keeping with 'Malgudi' theme in mind.

"It is a tribute to the makers of the popular television serial 'Malgudi Days' as the station features predominantly in the episodes which broadcast on Doordarshan in the 1980s," he said.

The museum has been designed by a famous artist John Devraj, who was the part of the serial Malgudi Days. The Mysore Divisional Railway funded the museum.

"The approach road and station area wear a new transformed look. The innovative idea of having a tea-shop in a narrow gauge coach at Arasalu station adds charm to the green surroundings," the MP said.

"Popular and internationally acclaimed serial Malgudi Days was shot here in Arasalu. The SWR Mysore division manager Aparna Garg helped to transform the station to fictional village Malgudi," he added.

The museum is about 30 km from Shivamogga city. It has steam engines and bogies besides collections of photographs hanging on the wall taken during the time of shooting for Malgudi Days.

Bengaluru, May 15: With lockdown-3 coming to an end in a couple of days, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Friday expressed confidence about the Centre announcing relaxation to "many things" after May 17.

"After May 17, the government of India is going to relax so many things, let us wait for it," he said in response to a question from reporters here. "According to me they (centre) will relax everything.... maybe for things like five-star hotels and others they may not give permission for the time being, but for other things they are going to give permission. Let's wait and see."

The nationwide lockdown was initially imposed from March 25 to April 14, then extended to May 3 and again to May 17 to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. Karnataka Tourism Minister C T Ravi on Wednesday had hinted at the state government permitting the opening of gyms, fitness centres and golf courses, also certain hotels for local tourism purpose after May 17, when the third phase of the COVID-19 induced lockdown comes to an end.

The Muzrai department (in charge of the administration of temples) was also planning to have a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in place, that needs to be followed at temples once they are opened for the public, officials have said. They said the opening of temples for the public is however subject to the MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) guidelines.

During the recent video conferencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi had with Chief Ministers of various states, Yediyurappa had proposed doing away with district wise colour-coding and instead advocated strict cordoning of containment zones to control the spread of the pandemic.

He had pitched for resuming all economic activities in stand-alone establishments while continuing the restrictions on malls, cinema halls, dining facilities and establishments with centrally controlled air-conditioning. The CM had suggested that 50 to 100 meters around known clusters be declared as containment zones and commercial activities, including public transport, to be allowed in non- containment zones.
