Kareena Kapoor: It was Saif who kind of pushed me to work in Veere Di Wedding

Mumbai, Apr 27: Kareena Kapoor Khan will be seen on silver screen after a gap of almost two years and the actor credits her husband Saif Ali Khan for motivating her to get back to films. Kareena, who took a small break from films in 2016 during her pregnancy, was back on sets months after giving birth to baby boy Taimur.

The actor started filming Veere Di Wedding in September last year, the trailer of which was released today.

“I wasn’t pregnant when I signed this film. I am lucky to have a husband who is so understanding. Apart from him, producer Rhea (Kapoor), stood by me. I had to call Rhea and tell her ‘I am pregnant and she needs to take someone else’.

“It was Rhea’s conviction. She was like ‘let’s just wait’. After that it was Saif who kind of pushed me and said ‘I think you should hit the gym and get back to the studio’. He said, ‘take your son with you and set an example to other mothers’. I think it’s been good till now. This journey has been beautiful,” Kareena said at the trailer launch.

The 37-year-old actor said a lot of couples now share household responsibilities and it is no more a big deal if a woman returns to work post baby. “… I am sure in today’s time we are sharing everything. We are sharing responsibilties and we are sharing our lives together. So we will share the pressure also,” she said.

Veere Di Wedding, also starring Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania, releases on June 1, but Kareena has not signed any other projects as of now.

“I haven’t thought about what I am going to do next. Taimur is 16-month-old and I am giving him time and will be promoting this film. Then I will decide what to do next but I promise to do one or two films a year,” she said. There were reports of Kareena starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Salute, the biopic on astronaut Rakesh Sharma, but the actor dodged the question saying, “Whatever film I choose I will let everyone know but at the right time.”

Los Angeles, May 2: Pop diva Madonna has revealed that she has tested positive for the COVID-19 anitbodies.

The singer shared the news in the 14th edition of her “Quarantine Diary” on Instagram TV.

“Took a test the other day and I found out that I have the antibodies. So tomorrow I’m just going to go for a long drive in the car, and I’m gonna roll down the window and I’m gonna breathe in the COVID-19 air. Yup. I hope the sun is shining,” Madonna said.

According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), US, antibody tests are used to determine whether or not a person has been exposed to COVID-19 by finding proteins the body produces to fight the virus.

However, the CDC has yet to confirm if the possession of antibodies is equal to immunity.

Patna, Jul 29: BJP MLA Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu, cousin of Sushant Singh Rajput, on Tuesday said that a huge amount of money has been transferred into the account of actress Rhea Chakraborty from the actor's account.

"An FIR has been filed against actress Rhea Chakraborty by the father of Sushant Singh as a huge amount of money has been transferred into her account and they both have joint accounts for some companies through which cheating has been done from her side," Bablu said.

"This is the issue of probe and police will go there and investigate the matter after that everything will be revealed," he added.

He also said that Karan Johar should also be called in for questioning by the Mumbai Police in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput's death case.

The statement was given in the backdrop of several top film personalities being questioned in connection with the case.

On July 28, an FIR has been registered against actor Rhea Chakraborty under various sections including abetment of suicide on the complaint of Sushant Singh Rajput's father Krishna Kishor Singh, the police said on Tuesday.

It said that a four-member team has been sent to Mumbai following registration of FIR.
"A four-member team has been sent to Mumbai. The team will collect case diary and other important documents from Mumbai Police," Sanjay Singh, Inspector General, Patna Central Zone said.

In the complaint made to Rajeev Nagar police station in-charge, KK Singh alleged that Rhea Chakraborty and her relatives "committed fraud" and "pressurised the actor for financial gains".

Sushant's father alleged that Chakraborty "got in touch with the actor with a motive to establish herself in the film industry using his contacts and she and her relatives started interfering in his affairs".

Mumbai, Jan 9: Actor Juhi Chawla on Wednesday said instead of constantly criticising the government, one should reflect on own conduct and talk about uniting rather than dividing.

The actor attended an event which aimed to counter "Free Kashmir (narrative), anti-India slogans, false propaganda and clear the misconception."

Juhi said as artistes, it's unfair to be questioned about incidents "just for a reaction" when they should be given time to truly understand the situation.

"We are going to work, thinking how to execute our task, then some incident happens somewhere and suddenly the media asks, 'what do you think about this?' We haven't understood the matter, people haven't understood the matter but you need a reaction.

"Let people understand, whether it's NRC or CAA, and what's is it about, why is this being talked about," Juhi told reporters.

The actor said it is sad that people talk about division more than unity.

"Everyone is quick to talk about dividing. Why don't we talk about uniting? Why does everyone say 'what is the government doing, why is it doing this?' but I say if you point one finger there then three fingers are at you.
