Karisma Kapoor's Divorce Reportedly Finalised, Saif by her Side

New Delhi, Jun 4: Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's divorce from Delhi-based industrialist Sunjay Kapur has reportedly been finalised. Karisma was accompanied by brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan to the court in Bandra.

Karishma DivorceSaif, who has been busy promoting new comedy Humshakals, is also believed to have had a private discussion with the estranged couple, urging them to close the matter without animosity. He apparently quoted his own example - Saif is divorced from first wife Amrita Singh - and tried to broker peace between Karisma and Sanjay who have been dogged by rumours of divorce for years.

Karisma married Sunjay on September 29, 2003, a time when she was at the peak of her acting career. Their marriage reportedly hit rock bottom after the birth of their daughter Samaira who was born in 2005.

Karisma moved back to Mumbai temporarily after which the couple patched-up and had a second child - son Kiaan Raj Kapur, who was born in 2010. However, rumours of infidelity on Sunjay's part persisted.

Karisma, who made a poorly-received comeback with Dangerous Ishhq in 2012, has been living in Mumbai with her children for some time now.

Mumbai, Jul 3: Renowned Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan died early on Friday morning due to cardiac arrest. She was 71.

The three-time National Award winner, who had choreographed some of the most memorable songs in Hindi cinema, was not keeping well for some time.

She was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra last Saturday after she complained of breathing issues. The mandatory COVID-19 test done at the hospital showed a negative result.

“She passed away due to cardiac arrest at around 2.30 a.m. at the hospital,” Khan’s nephew Manish Jagwani said.

In a career spanning over four decades, Khan is credited with choreographing more than 2,000 songs, including Dola Re Dola from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, Ek Do Teen from Madhuri Dixit-starrer Tezaab and Ye Ishq Haaye from Jab We Met in 2007.

She last choreographed for Tabaah Hogaye, featuring Madhuri from filmmaker Karan Johar’s production Kalank in 2019.

Mumbai, May 11: Model-cum-actress Poonam Pandey was on Sunday booked by Mumbai Police for violating the coronvirus-induced lockdown norms, an official said.

An FIR was registered against Panedy and a person accompanying her by the Marine Drive Police.

She was found roaming in her high-end car at Marine Drive without any reason, he said.

"A case has been registered against Pandey and Sam Ahmad Bombay (46) under sections 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of a disease dangerous to life) and 188 (Disobedience of order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under provisions of the National Disaster Act," senior police inspector Mrityunjay Hiremath said.

Kolhapur, Feb 21: Voicing against Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), renowned lyrics and thinker Javed Akhtar has said that the act was an assault to secularism and integrity of India and with the ongoing protests, the nation had reached a threshold for an another struggle.

Speaking here on Thursday night at an event organised on the 5th death anniversary of CPI senior leader and progressive leader Com Govind Pansare, Mr Akhtar said the newly amended citizenship act was a plot to split the country.

Mr Javed said that communalism has a deep root in India and it spread after the formation of Hindu Mahasabha and Muslim League in British India. "Muslim league got Pakistan but Hindu Mahasabha is still unsatisfied," he alleged and added that BJP was now 'working as a branch of RSS' and trying to 'split the country' through NRC.
