Bengaluru, Jun 18: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday visited the house of a 45 year-old farmer, who committed suicide on June 15, and consoled the family members.
Debt ridden Suresh committed suicide at his agriculture land by hanging himself from a tree. Before taking this extreme step, he expressed his desire through a video that Kumaraswamy should be invited for his last rites.
He had appealed to the Chief Minister to fill all the tanks in Santhebachenahalli village and save farmers. He had said "Earlier, we used to get ground water at 150 ft but now there is no water even at 1500 ft and farmers are facing severe hardship."
