Karnataka govt decides to review its decision on granting land to JSW steels

Bengaluru, Jun 15: Bowing to the stiff opposition to grant a huge tract of land to the steel giant JSW Ballary, the state government has decided to review its decision and appointed a Cabinet Sub-Committee to look into the issue.

Briefing the media persons, the Panchayath Raj minister, Krishna Byregowda, informed that the Cabinet, chaired by the Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, had informed that a Cabinet Sub-Committee would be constituted to review the state government’s decision to grant about 3600 acres of land to JSW steel Ltd.

Mangaluru, Jul 22: On the direction of the Karnataka government, private medical colleges in Dakshina Kannada have reserved 4,000 beds for the treatment of Covid-19 infected patients.

With this, the district will have a total of 4,720 beds for the treatment including that from the government set up.

The district administration has directed the eight private medical colleges to reserve 50 of its beds for treating the infected patients. Accepting the direction of the district administration, the management of medical colleges have submitted details on the beds reserved to the authorities concerned.

Bengaluru, Jan 22: Three alleged Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in India were apprehended in Karnataka's Bengaluru district, police said on Wednesday.

The arrested are identified as Mohammed Lokman (55), his wife Jasmin Begun (35) and son Raasel (22) are natives of Boresel village in Pirojpur district in Bangladesh.

According to police, they were staying at a camp at Munnekolala village.

Mangaluru, Jul 2: A middle aged man who was battling health issues due to kidney-related ailments, breathed his last at a private hospital.

He was tested positive for coronavirus.

The deceased was a 49-year-old resident of Kalladka in Bantwal.

According to sources, the man, was getting treated for tuberculosis and liver-related ailments, he was at home since 20 days.

On June 27 he was admitted to the private hospital in the city due to kidney related ailment.

With this, the total number of death of covid patients in the district reached to 18.
