Udupi, May 4: With the mystery of the missing fishing boat has been solved with recovery of wreckage by he Navy, the Karnataka Government was urged to pay cash compensation to the next to the kin of the seven fishermen who were feared to have died in the boat accident in the mid-sea.
Speaking to newsmen here on Saturday, Nityananda Kotian, one of the victims family of the missing boat Suvarna Tribhuja, which went missing on December 15 last with seven fishermen, and was established recently that the boat had been drowned in mid-sea, has urged the State as well as Central governments to announce ex-gratia to the kin of the missing fishermen.
Kotian, who was taken to the tragedy site in the mid-sea by the Navy Officials, said that “I had a faint hope on the lives of the fishermen, but once witnessed the accident site in the mid-sea I was proved wrong”.
