Karnataka NRI Forum celebrates India National Day in Jeddah

 Jeddah, Sep 21:  section of the Indian community from Karnataka here celebrated their country's 68th Independence Day at Cruise at North Abhur.

Around 200 members of Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah chapter which includes families and children attended the event, KNRI Forum is a social organization  Karnataka representing all the districts of state and striving to help less fortunate people back home in Karnataka and also helping needy Kannadigas  in Jeddah with coordination of Indian Consulate. With a motto of spreading love to our nation KNRI Forum organized this program.

Program started with National Anthem followed by welcome speech which was delivered by Cultural secretary Mohammed Saifuddin, in his speech appreciated the enthusiasm of Kannadigas for celebration of Independence Day.

In an address to the audience General Secretary of the forum Syed Nasir Khursheed congratulated all Kannadigas on this auspicious occasion of Independence day. He highlighted the aims and objectives of the forum and requested members to participate actively in the charitable activities of the forum.

Mr. Manzoor Ahmed Vice president of the forum remembered the freedom fighters while addressing to audience and said we feel proud as first freedom fighter was from Karnataka who is remembered as Tiger of Mysore Tipu Sultan.

Chief Guest of the evening Mr. Vishwanath Karkare a prominent social worker appreciated the activities of the KNRI Forum and congratulated all the team members for their efforts in organizing Independence day celebration.

President of the forum Roshan Rodrigues in a presidential address congratulated all the attendees for Independence Day celebration and appreciated the activities of Cultural team for taking initiative to organize such beautiful events.

He expressed deep sense of appreciation towards sports committee as they have planned to organize cricket tournament shortly in Jeddah under the lead role of Vice president Sabu Chandra. He also appreciated patronage of Mr. Vishwanath Hegde for his continuous support to the forum.

He informed audience about his representation from KNRI Forum with MLA Mangalore Shree J.R LOBO to Higher Education Minister Government of Karnataka Shree R.V.DESHAPANDAY regarding inclusion of NRI students for appearing Common Entrance Test to get professional courses which was greatly applauded by the audience. He also thanked Education Minister and MLA for their cooperation and assurance towards NRIs problem

Children enjoyed the sports organized for them at upper deck which was conducted by Praveen netrekar, Faizan Ahmed and Sheezan Ahmed

Event became melodious when cultural team started session of Hindi and Kannada Songs, this session started with kannada title song of Gandha da Gudi sung by Joint Cultural secretary Mohammed Kalim was appreciated by audience.
 All time favorite song Mera Juta hai japani patloon inglistaani from Shree 420 sung by Cultural secretary Mohammed Saifuddin (Mukesh of Jeddah) was applauded by the audience.
 Mohammed Kaleem was appreciated by the audience when he sung suno na sange mar mar ki minaarein from new film youngistan.
 
Chinta ta chita chita famous song from Rawdi rathod sung by Joint Cultural Secretary Mohsin Khan was well enjoyed by the audience specially youth.
On a request he sung famous song Tere Maasoom sawalon se pareshaan hoon main from film Masoom was well appreciated.

Duet chikni kamar pe teri mera dil phisal gaya from Rawdi rathod was Sung by Miss Nidhi Kharvi and Mohammed Kaleem was also appreciated by audience.

Sari ke falsa duet song from new film Rrajkumar was sung by Miss Nidhi kharvi and Mohammed Saifuddin was impressed to the audience.

Last but not the least on demand President Roshan Rodrigues sung all time favorite song Zindagi ek safar hai suhaana from film Safar, got enthusiastic response from the audience.

Treasurer of the forum Sri Harsha said I enjoyed lot while celebrating Independence Day as this event takes me to college days where we use to have lot of fun after flag hoisting.

Joint Secretary of the forum Yashwanth Amin said these events will refresh us as we all are always busy with jobs assignments.

Aejaz Ahmed Meeting Coordinator of the forum said its great feeling celebrating Independence Day out of our country but still I miss these ceremonies which we use to celebrate at homeland.

Syed Haseebuddin joint treasure said I feel proud to be part of this KNRI Family which gives essence of our homeland.

Mukaram Khan Membership coordinator said KNRI brings all family together, he is happy to say part of KNRI forum

Praveen netrekar joint cultural secretary said as photography is my passion I like this idea of celebrating Independence day in cruise with beautiful scene around it.

Sports secretary of the forum Peter Mascarenhas said every day we learn in our life and it was great experience creating environment of land on sea as sports also were conducted on cruise.

Syed Shakeel Ahmed executive member of the forum said when we mingle with kannadigas here in Jeddah I feel as if I am in Bangalore.

Ilyas Momin Executive member of the forum said it was wonderful experience for me being part of KNRI Forum as this is my first year in this organization.

Imtiaz Ahmed Executive member said arrangements for the event were well planned and completed as per schedule; he also appreciated quality of food served.

Mohammed Arif Executive member said if we have such programs it will be a good platform of interaction and new ideas can be generated to work more effectively for charitable activities.

Mohammed Saheb executive member of the forum said we are expatriates here in kingdom and if we celebrate such programs here we can remember to those who were martyred while freedom struggle.

Faizee sheikh Executive member of the forum said I found KNRI Forum as true symbol of Integrity in diversity.  

Niaz Ahmed Press secretary of the forum well conducted the program and same time he was Master of quiz competition which was appreciated by audience.

Program was concluded with vote of thanks by Mphammed Kaleem in which he appreciated presence of chief guest and audience. Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.

Riyadh: Cricket Lovers are all geared up for the newly launched franchise based tournament - Kingdom Premier League (KPL) 2020 under the banner of Mangaluru Cricket Association (MCA) Riyadh.

SAQCO –SAAD AL QAHTANI CONTRACTING is the Mega Sponsor for the event and PARAMOUNT is the CO Sponsor.

The 6-team tournament is being played at MCA Grounds on Exit 18 in Riyadh beginning from 14 Feb and shall end on 20 March.

The Opening ceremony took place on AL-Mas Restaurant in Riyadh. The trophy launching as well as Jersey launching took place at the same event. Guests from various companies including SAQCO were present.

All teams will play at least one league Match against every other team. Top 4 teams in the table will qualify to play for the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator. The Winner of Qualifier 1 will be heading towards the final and the 2nd finalist will be the winner Qualifier 2 (Played between loser of Qualifier 1 and Winner of Eliminator). Doha: Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF) once again set an example that no caste, creed, language and religion comes as hurdle for their humanitarian services and helped to perform last rites of Ramesh who committed suicide in Doha-Qatar.

45-year-old Ramesh son of K. Nagan hailing from Panikulam, Thrissur district in Kerala, who was working as a tailor committed suicide in his house at Ruwias in Qatar on 30th May 2020.

On hearing this news, some of his friends in Kearla informed Mr. Shihab who is also from Thrissur and a member of QISF and the same was brought to the notice of QISF humanitarian team head Mr. Abdul Latheef Madikeri and Basheer Ahmed of Tamil Nadu.

Immediately, the QISF team intervened and contacted the family members of the deceased in India and discussed the matter and consequences of sending the body back home to India in this pandemic COVID 19 situation.

Considering the prevailing situation, the family members gave the consent to bury the body in Qatar itself.

QISF team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation.

Finally, the body of the deceased was buried in Qatar on 7th June 2020 and the copies of all the relevant documents have been handed over to the family members.

The family members of the deceased thanked and applauded the leaders and all the members of QISF for their effective and on time humanitarian service rendered even in this pandemic crisis and having no bias.
