Kasaragod Govt Medical College Hospital to be ready in two years

Kasaragod, Nov 26: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said here on Sunday that the construction of the Government Medical College Hospital in Kasaragod will be completed in two years.

Inaugurating the construction work of the hospital at Ukkinadka in Kasaragod, Mr Vijayan said the work of the academic block of the medical college is being completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 25 crore.

He announced that administrative sanction of Rs. 95 crore has been granted for the project.

Stating that Kasaragod deserves to be given special attention in health front, he said the government medical college in the district would be beneficial to the general public and also endosulfan victims.

The problem of the lack of a superspecialty hospital in the district will be solved with the completion of the medical college construction, he said.

Dear All, First up all we thanks our government to take initiative action to success the plan. We all kasaragod people should proud to hear now, we have best medical college hospital in our native. Whenever their is an emergency, our ambulance runs to Mangalore in fast drive, where driver keep his life in death mode to save patient valuable life... We respect our Ambulance team with salute... Why we need to keep Ambulance & patient life for more time. We will get best efforts from our government.... If we have Teacher minister with us, we should not afraid of any body. She will look best for us, to get best meditation doctors for endosulfan, heart , kidney, etc. We can say to all we also has best medical college for all of citizen internal and external. Thanks Kerala State Government to support Kasaragod. Especially all kasaragod Gulf and other District Trust including me ,we should have best hand for any kind of help to promote for our Kasaragod Medical Collage. In the God we will success. In order to promote govt hospital and to ensure less expensive consultation, govt should improve hospital/medical college facilities and political leaders should go to govt hospitals/ medical colleges for consultation

Never.. That is GOVT medical college. So doctors wont get much benefit compared to PRIVATE MEDICAL COLLEGE

Doctors too. Many are from Kerala. They will go this MC

If it came out good then, some private hospitals in mangaluru may lose many patients.

No connection with the car, says R Ashok on accident allegedly involving his son

Bengaluru, Feb 14: BJP leader and Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashok refused to comment on the Bellary car accident case, allegedly involving his son, saying that the matter was still under investigation and that they did not have anything to do with the said car.

The car crash took place on February 10, when a speeding red Mercedes Benz allegedly driven by Ashok's son rammed into a tea stall by the roadside killing two people. While a 16-year-old boy Ravi died on the spot, one of the car's passengers was also killed in the accident.

"I came to know about the incident and also heard that two people have died and a few others have sustained injuries. Everybody is equal under the law. It is not fair to comment as a minister when the case is being investigated," Ashok told reporters here on Thursday.

However, the minister avoided answering questions about his son's presence in the car and said that they had "no connection" with the car.

"The case is in the investigation stage, I don't want to comment on anything. My son's name is not present in the FIR. We have no connection with the car," he said.

Superintendent of Police CK Baba told reporters that Ashok's son was not present in the car.

"There was no senior BJP leader and Revenue Ministers's son in the car. We will not hide anything and the case will be investigated," Baba said.

Karnataka govt to build guest house for Kannadiga pilgrims in Ayodhya

Bengaluru, Aug 8: Anticipating a huge number of pilgrims from Karnataka to start visiting Ayodhya following the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Ram temple, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Friday requested his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath for two acres of land to build a 'yatri nivas' (guest house).

"A large number of pilgrims from Karnataka would be visiting Ayodhya. The government of Karnataka wishes to construct a yatri nivas for the pilgrims visiting Ayodhya," Yediyurappa wrote to Yogi.

"I request you to grant two acres of land in Ayodhya for this purpose," he said.

The Chief Minister said the yatri nivas will be constructed for the benefit of pilgrims from the southern state.

He also congratulated the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister for successfully laying the foundation stone for the Ram temple on Wednesday.

Mangaluru violence: ADGP holds meeting with senior cops

Mangaluru, Jan 5: Against the backdrop of Mangalore violence of December 19, Additional Director General of Police of Karnataka Amar Kumar Pandey visited the city and held a meeting with senior police officers.

According to senior police officials here on Sunday, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Muslim Central Committee had planned to hold a protest against CAA at Nehru Maidan while the SKSSF had called for anti-CAA protest at State Bank area.

Though both the protests had been called off, there was an apprehension of a repeat incident of December 19 violence and hence the ADGP visited the city at the behest of state government and monitored the situation here for the entire day on Saturday.

The ADGP was unhappy that despite initial inputs and the imposition of Section 144 in the city, the situation on that day escalated to a level where police had to resort to firing only in this city.
