Makkah: Karnataka Cultural Foundation (KCF), an organization of non-resident Kannadigas with more than 10,000 members across Middle East, UK and Malaysia, is engaged in connecting Kannadiga expatriate community in humanitarian services.

Hajj is one of the finest occasions that witnesses exemplary services from thousands of volunteers serving the guests of Allah who visit Makkah for annual hajj.

KCF-Saudi Arabia has been at the forefront rendering its tireless Service to the Hajj Pilgrims since last three years. Most organizations who render volunteer service limit themselves to final days of Hajj. However, KCF Hajj volunteer service stands apart as their service starts from the day first hajj flight lands in the holy land and until the last day of Hajj.

KCF started its volunteer saga in the year 2015 when MINA stampede took place. The enthusiastic volunteers of KCF pledged their life to save or serve the pilgrims trapped in the stampede. They were at the front line to carry the wounded to the MINA Hospital. When the hospital staff reluctantly offered entry to volunteers to serve inside hospital due to shortage of manpower, KCF Hajj volunteer were the first ones to grab the opportunity. Their self-less efforts drew all-round APPRECIATION from hospital staff and the hospital honored KCF volunteers with APPRECIATION AWARD. Last year too, the hospital welcomed the KCF volunteers inside the hospital premise to meet the pressing demand. The hospital was pleased and KCF earned APPRECIATION AWARD second time. The success story of KCF Hajj Volunteer service has continued in Hajj 2017 as well. The outstanding effort of KCF volunteers in serving the wounded, tired and sick pilgrims on and off hospital premise has drawn the attention of everyone. As a result KCF Hajj Volunteer service has won APPRECIATION AWARD from MINA Hospital again making it a hatrick achievement.

KCF stands out from others not only because of the services; also the volunteers who participate in serving the pilgrims support the cause by sharing the expenses among themselves and also by the well-wishers. The Efforts of KCF has been recognized by the Indian Embassy which helped the volunteers to serve the haji’s sparklingly.

They needed wheel chair to go to Jamarat Stone Pebling area , In a short span of time they arranged wheel chair . Dubai, Aug 7: ‘Nama Tuluve’ Purushotham Salian, a staunch stalwart who always supported humanity and a strong pillar for Tuluvas in Dubai, passed away August, 4 at Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted to Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain some time ago. He was on the last stage of illness which was not detected earlier.

His funeral last rites were conducted on Thursday August 7 at Jebel Ali cemetery in Hindu rites with a few of his family members present. Due to Covid pandemic, neither his body was able to be flown back to hometown nor could his two children come down to attend the funeral. However, it was said that his wish was to be cremated here in Dubai which unknowingly sometime back he whispered to one of his friends.

Purushotham had few years ago, survived a heart attack and fought back his life, though it had a minor paralytic effect on him. Even though, till recently he used to do his day-to-day work normally. He was a hard working personality and owned a readymade garment shop in Ajman and Dubai mostly taking care of clients with requirement of uniforms and coveralls. His dedication towards work was always appreciated by his clients who used to get their things delivered on time always.

He was never a publicity person and was helping the poor and needy in whatever ways he could silently. He strongly supported the community and was associated with Nama Tuluveru and Billawa community with commitment. He used to voluntarily come forward for the ground work of various functions of the community and used to be there until it was done perfectly.
