Kerala expat wins Rs 18-cr jackpot in Abu Dhabi draw; all top 10 winners are Indians

Abu Dhabi, Feb 5: The results of the much-awaited Big Ticket Draw in Abu Dhabi are out this morning. An Indian expatriate worker has made himself crores of rupees richer after hitting the jackpot in the latest raffle.

Sunil Mappatta Krishnan Kutty Nair (right) will be sharing the prize with Dipindas (left) and three others.

Sunil Mappatta Krishnan Kutty Nair, a married Keralite based in Abu Dhabi, will walk away with Dh10 million (nearly 18 crore Indian Rupees), the second-largest reward given away this year.

The winner works as a sales executive. He will be splitting the pot money with four of his friends, namely  Dipindas, Abhilash, Sainudheen and Shamshudheen, who contributed to the ticket cost.

With tickets costing Dh500, lottery players usually pitch in to participate in the draw and split the prize later.

The winning numbers from today’s “The Big Ten Series 188” raffle at the arrivals hall in Abu Dhabi International Airport are 016299.

The lucky ticket was picked by last month’s winner of Dh12 million, Harikrishnan V. Nair, an Indian expatriate based in Ajman.

Interestingly, all the top 10 winners on the list are Indians. Check the entire list of winners below:

Mangaluru, May 5: A day after lockdown was partially relaxed in Dakshina Kannada, a fresh covid-19 positive case was reported today from Boloor area of Mangaluru.

In its fresh bulletin, health and family welfare department today said that the throat swabs of a 51-year-old man from Boloor tested positive for the coronavirus.

Boloor is already declared as corona containment zone in the district after as this is the fourth coronavirus positive case reported from the area.

With this, the total number of coronavirus cases in Dakshina Kannada mounted to 25 including 19 residents of the district and six outsiders who have already left the district after getting treatment.

Mangaluru, Apr 27: Two more people including an elderly woman have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada. 

With this the total number of covid-19 cases in the district reached 21, though most of them have recovered and returned home. 

In its today's bulletin, the health and family welfare department confirmed that a 45-year-old man and his 80-year-old mother tested positive for the deadly disease. 

It is learnt that one of them had undergone treatment at a private hospital where a woman from Bantwal, who died of covid-19, was being treated for breathing difficulties, before she was shifted to Wenlock Hospital which is now converted into covid-19 hospital.

Mysuru, Mar 7: Former minister and senior Congress leader and sitting MLA Tanveer Sait has shot off a letter to state Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai expressing his dissatisfaction over the slow progress in the investigations regarding the attack on him.

In the letter, which he released to the press on Saturday, he claimed that although the police have already arrested the culprit, but it is yet to find the real masterminds, leaders or organisation behind the attack.

Mr Sait urged the Home Minister to request the police to speed up their investigation and solve the case at the earliest and give him justice.
