Kozhikode, Aug 31: Over 30 students from a college in Kozhikode district have been booked for allegedly waving a flag resembling that of Pakistan inside the campus premises, police said.

The incident took place on Thursday when students belonging to Muslim Students Front (MSF) were taking out a procession as part of the union elections inside the campus of the Perambra Silver College. The students allegedly waved a large 'Pakistan' flag.

The students have claimed that they were waiving the MSF flag but because of the larger size, it created confusion.

They have been booked under Sections 143, 147, 153 and 149 of the IPC.

Further investigation will be carried out to ascertain the identity of the students and necessary action will be taken, the police said.

Some anti social element might have provide incorrect informatin to police regarding the Flag.  Actually it is MSF party Flag and not Pak flag.   Police should investigate the issue and in case the Flag is of Pak necesary action should be taken agaisnt the students and in case the informatin is wrong, the informer should be booked for wasting time of police and for wrong allegation on innocents.

Mangaluru, July 23: Lavanya Ballal, national co-coordinator for social media department of Indian National Congress, has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of destroying the nation by misleading the youth.

In an interview with a regional Kannada news paper, the Dakshina Kannada based activist, lamented that instead of using social media for the welfare of the nation, BJP leaders used it to spread lies for their political gains.

On one hand BJP fooled people through false promises and colourful dialogues, while on the other hand it misled crores of youth by spreading fake news, twisted facts and false information, she said.

Ms Ballal went on to accuse BJP of following the footsteps of the British. “BJP is following all the methods employed by the British invaders to divide the people of India and make them hate each other,” she said.

She said that Congress always used the social media for the benefit of the country. If the new generation realises this fact, the country will once again turn its direction towards development, she asserted.
