Jeddah, Nov 30: Prince Khaled A-Faisal, the emir of Makkah and adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, launched Wednesday evening the 4th and 5th stages of the Jeddah Waterfront project, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Prince Khaled thanked King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman for realizing this project and other mega projects to be carried out in Jeddah.

He added that it was unusual for many big projects to be carried out in a city simultaneously, but now it was a reality in Jeddah.

He congratulated the King, the Crown Prince, Governor of Jeddah Prince Mishal Bin Majed and the city's mayor of Jeddah as well as the Saudi citizens on the successful opening of the project.

The new Jeddah waterfront built at a cost of SR800 million covers an area of 730,000 sq. meters and a length exceeding 4 km.

Jeddah Mayor Hani Abu Ras said the new waterfront has seven main recreational areas with a capacity to accommodate 120,000 people.

The parking lots can accommodate 3000 cars.

The mayor appealed to the public to protect these facilities from damage and vandalism.
