Khidmah Foundation holds mega family get-together in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, Jun 11: Khidmah Foundation, a charity organization of NRIs in Saudi Arabia, organized a massive family get-together on June 5, at Al-Rushd Istarah Ext 8 -Dammam Road, wherein hundreds of people from different parts of India and the sub-continent took part.

Dr. Parvez Kaisar from Ministry of Health, Shaikh Inamullah, an Islamic scholar, Haroon Rashid, former Principal, Bhatkal Anjuman College, were among the guests. Ansar Shaikh, Ibrahim Bedre, Mohammed Jaffer Kolkar were also on the stage.

Immediately after the ‘Isha’ prayers, families started thronging to the istarah / hall. The event was launched by Fazlu Rahman Kolkar and Abdul Fatha MH recited the verses of holy Quran.

There was something for everyone at the venue. Children aged between 3 to 8 years were enthusiastic and walked gently with their prizes just after reciting few verses from the holy Quran. A variety of programmes were conducted including Qirath competition, general knowledge quiz, athletics and group games for boys and girls. Adventurous games for men like tug-of-war, volleyball, cricket etc were organized. A large number of participation was witnessed for all the games, which were volunteered and supervised by professional players.

While children and men were enjoying the games set for them, women were enjoying the break from their usual schedule. They were so engrossed in their games and activities that at one point they were reluctant to even have a break from the games.

Mohammed Yaseen Shiroor and Mohammed Sayeed Mali briefed on the future planning, vision and goals of Khidmah Foundation.

Abdussalam Moulana, Abu Mohammed Moulana, Ansar Shaikh, Kolkar Jaffer, Fazlu Rahman Kolkar, Ibrahim Bedre, Zakariyah Khalifa, Haneef Basroor, Aslam Koya, Sulaiman Kodi, Jeelan Khalifa, Abdul Gafoor Nagoor, Abu Mohammed Kundapur, put in a lot of effort to make this event successful. Mohammed Imtiyaz Hemmadi was relentlessly announcing the KF activities and the sponsors’ names. Imtiyaz Shiakh Kundapur, Najeeb MH, Abdul Gafoor Basroor, Jelaani Khalifa, was responsible for the reception.

Abu Mohammed Moulana , Haneef Kundapur, Abdul Salaam, Liyaqath Basroor, were in charge of the food section. Irfan Nagoor and Faik Shiroor were in charge of tea stall. Althaf Basroor, Aslam Raja were responsible for gate. Toufeeque shaikh, Jaffer Shiakh, Riyaz Masni, Imtiyaz Hemmadi, Ashraf Koteshwar, Shahid Kolkar, Nasrullah Shaikh, Abdul Rawoof Nagoor, Kauseef conducted many sports event for men and children.

There were prizes for Islamic and general quiz ladies side, sports events and also there was a raffle draw for major prizes.

The event was held under the guidance of the Fazlu Rahman kolkar and supervision by brother Abdussalam moulana.

Khidmah Foundation is a non-profit and charitable organization formed with an aim to meet all social needs of weaker section in the community and to create an avenue for charity, aimed at achieving various programmes, which spotlight mainly on the community services and developments, women empowerment and children development, socio-educational and health care programmes in the socially and economically backward areas of the Kundapur Taluk, stated a press release issued by the organizers.

Dubai: Karnataka Sports & Cultural Club (KSCC) distributed Eid Kit across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah to the ) needy people on Eid al Fitr.

KSCC President Mr. Mohammed Ismail Said: “Eid is a Symbol of Gratitude and Unity. As the last few weeks have been hard for each one of us, we wanted to stand in solidarity to celebrate Eid, by helping labours and needy people. He also said that “We are together to be part of UAE. Serving these meals is our core social responsibility."

KSCC recently conducted humanitarian services during COVID-19 pandemic in 2 phases and conducted Blood Donation Drive. They have also planned to conduct next Blood Donation Drive on 25th May, 2020.

The KSCC main objective is to develop the expatriate community into a well-nourished section of society in the areas of social, sports and cultural activities.

Markaz Al Madeena Association, Eastern province, conducted JALS-E-UCHILA get together program at Dammam, Saudi Arabia on March 5,2020 on account of celebrating 28 years of social service dedicated by the organization.

The event chairman Noushad Uchil inaugurated the function. The organization president presided the program and delivered talk about the intention of the organization. Hashim Uchil has intorduced the social and academic contribution of the organization of past 28 years. Jamal Uchil welcomed the gathering and Ismail G.I. host the program.

Games, Quiz and prize distribution to the winners and senior social workers was the special attraction of the event. The planning committee of the event includes Iqbal, Farooq, Shahul Hameed, Ramza, Nabeel, Afthar, Ashraf and Shafi.

Kuwait: State of Karnataka is enriched with Daasa culture, which had contributed immensely to its literature, culture, art & philosophy. Daasa tradition in Karnataka was part of the Bhakti movement which flourished from around 15th century and it extended considerable spiritual influence over the masses. Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, organized its annual Daasotsava on 14th February 2020 in remembrance of these saints, thereby displaying the rich cultural heritage of the state. 

The program started with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath, convener of cultural committee. Divine invocation prayer by Mrs. Vasantha Ashok and Mrs. Sandhya Arun set the trend for the event. This was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the 2020 executive committee, comprising of President Mr. Rajesh Vittal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Chabba, General Secretary Mr. Praveen Kumar Shetty and Treasurer Mr. Pradeep Rao. President, while welcoming the gathering, spoke about the importance of Daasas in Kannada literature & history and briefed about the series of upcoming programs. Cultural programs started with fancy dress competition by Koota children comprising of all age group starting from infants to elder kids. This program stole the show as the efforts & time invested by children and their parents were clearly visible. 

2019 executive committee was felicitated by the current committee for wonderfully managing Koota affairs & programs. This was followed by the release of Koota magazine “Marala Mallige", comprising of informative articles, drawings, poems etc., entirely contributed by the association members. Event’s main attraction “Vrindavana Leelavarana", a colorful dance drama spectacularly portrayed by 54 Koota children, was very well appreciated & received by the attendees. Association children who successfully completed 10th and 12th were felicitated as a token of encouragement. Executive committee gave away prizes to Kids who excelled in the stage competitions held earlier. Audience was treated to a divine and melodious Bhajan program conducted astutely by the ladies & men. Koota women performed Bhajan Kolata, along with ladies bhajan, in a well-coordinated manner. Vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary of Koota, thanking those who contributed for the success of the event. Another attraction was a quiz competition “Rasa Prashne", conducted efficiently between the programs, by Mr. Mahesh Shiramgond. 

The whole event was planned and executed astutely by the cultural committee under the leadership of Convener, Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath. Public Relations Committee, led by Mrs. Suparna Dambal, welcomed the members in a vibrant & colorful way, showcasing a beautifully erected divine mantap. The event was sponsored by Unimoni, LIC HFL, VSPL, Geetherb, Kotak Life Insurance, Joy Alukkas, Lulu Hypermarket & Total Environment. The program ended with a sumptuous satvik lunch, sponsored by the senior Koota member, Mr. Ramachandran Seetharaman.
