KIFF sports meet 2015 concludes

Kuwait City: A grand sports meet was organizes by Kuwait India Fraternity Forum as a part of Fraternity Fest at the Gulf University of Science and Technology (GUST) Ground concluded on November 27.

Hundreds of expats from across Kuwait participated in different competitions of track and field games

The event which was held in 2 phases was earlier inaugurated by Kuwait National Football Team Player Mr. Mohammed Rashid Al Otaibi.

In the Football Match, CFC Salmiya won the Trophy while Abbasiya Brothers got Runners-up.Fahaheel team grabbed the 1st position in the Tug of war competition and Desert Eagle was pushed to 2nd place. Desert Eagle A emerged as a winner in Kabaddi while Desert Eagle B had to satisfy for the runners-up. Kunjal Friends bagged the 1st Prize in the Volleyball and the 2nd prize went to Delhi Friends.

Majeed Fahaheel won in 100 Meters Race and Ilyas got 2nd place. Mubeen bagged the 1st prize in 200 Meters Running Race while Sinan stood to 2nd. Special awards were presented to the best players in each individual event. Large number of women and children also enjoyed various fun games. Prizes of the Independence Day Quiz competition also distributed during this time.

KIFF President, Mr. Saifuddin Nalakath presided over the program. Mr. Rasheed Khan, Manager, TVS Travels & Cargo, Mr. BL Panchal, Managing Director, Al-Theyab Steel Works, KIFF Kerala Chapter President, Ummer, Karnataka Chapter President, Musthakeem, Tamil Nadu Chapter President, Kifayathullah, North Zone President, Shamsheer, Indian Social Forum General Secretary Mr. Amjath Ali, Program Convener Mr. Faisal Atholi were also present during the closing ceremony. Mr. Sakariya delivered the welcome speech. Mr. Ibrahim proposed the vote of thanks. Naveez Ali compared the program. The event was sponsored by Bahrain Exchange Company (BEC).

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.
