King Salman Complex for Prophet’s Tradition to come up in Madinah

Riyadh, Oct 18: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman issued on Tuesday an order to set up a complex named after him for the Tradition of the Prophet (peace be upon him).

The King Salman Complex for the Prophet’s Tradition will be based in Madinah, the Saudi Press Agency reported quoting the royal decree.

The complex will have a scientific council comprising world-renowned scholars of Hadith. The council's president and members will be appointed through a royal decree.

Sheikh Muhammad Bin Hassan Al-Asheikh, member of the Council of Senior Scholars, has been appointed as the president of the council.

In the decree, the King noted that the decision to establish the complex has been made after taking into account the great status enjoyed by the Prophet’s Tradition or Hadith among Muslims as the second source of the Islamic Shariah after the Holy Qur’an.

The King’s order went viral on social media, with many calling it as a great step in serving the Prophet’s Tradition.

Some tweeted that Saudi Arabia and its government are doing their utmost to spread the message of the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet’s Tradition.

The complex would be a landmark achievement in promoting the Sunnah. It will engage in free distribution of Hadith around the world.

The setting up of the complex is regarded as an unprecedented and successful experiment with a highly challenging mission that will function under the supervision of the Kingdom’s leadership. 

Choosing Madinah as the seat of the complex is because of the position of the holy city to where the Prophet (PBUH) made his migration and where he was buried.

The choice of Al-Sheikh as the chairman of the scientific council also shows a wise decision as he is one of the eminent scholars of Hadith, its reporting and interpretation.

Abu Dhabi, May 25: Dusty weather to persist in the UAE on Monday as well with a chance of rainfall in parts of the country, the national Met department reported.

According to the NCM, the weather today will be fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of some convective clouds formation by afternoon - eastward and northward - extending to some internal areas that may be associated with some rainfall.

The weather will get humid by night and Tuesday morning over some coastal areas.

NCM predicts a wet Eid break.

Sharjah Police issued a weather warning as heavy rain flooded roads in Sharjah's Kalba among other areas.

Moderate to fresh winds will gain strength during the day causing blowing dust and sand.

The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

Earlier on Sunday, a weather alert was issued by authorities as moderate to heavy rain - accompanied with hail - lashed parts of the UAE. A rainbow in Dubai skies cheered up residents, celebrating a unique Eid this year amid the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic - by mostly staying home.

Ankara, Apr 2: Saudi Arabia on Thursday declared a 24-hour lockdown in all parts of Makkah and Medina cities as part of measures to stem the spread of the coronavirus.

"The 24-hour curfew will be imposed in all parts of the cities of Makkah and Medina, with a ban on entry and exit from both cities," the Saudi Interior Ministry said on Twitter.

The lockdown starts from Thursday “until further notice.”

All commercial activities inside the residential neighborhoods of the two cities were also prohibited, except for pharmacies, food products stores, gas stations and banking services, the ministry said.

After first appearing in Wuhan, China last December, the virus has spread to at least 180 countries and regions, according to U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University.

Its data shows the number of confirmed cases worldwide have surpassed 962,900, with the death toll over 49,100 and more than 202,700 recoveries.

Dubai, Mar 23: All inbound, outbound and transit passenger flights to and from the United Arab Emirates – home to one of the world’s busiest hubs – are to be suspended for two weeks.

The UAE’s National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) and General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced that passenger flights to, from and through the country will be suspended from 25 March for a period of two weeks, in order to “curb the spread of the Covid-19”.

Freight and emergency evacuation flights will still be permitted to operate.

The suspension affects major global hubs in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Dubai-based Emirates has already announced that it will suspend most of its passenger flights from 25 March.

“Additional examination and isolation arrangements will be taken later should flights resume, in order to ensure the safety of passengers, air crews and airport personnel and their protection from infection risks,” state the NCEMA and the GCAA.

Dubai International Airport was the third-busiest airport in the world in 2018, handling 89 million passengers.
