KNRI Jeddah celebrates Karnataka Rajyotsava Day

Jeddah: Expatriates from Karnataka celebrated their state formation day as Karnataka Rajyotsava day which was organized by Karnataka Non- Resident of Indian (KNRI) Forum Jeddah recently held at the Indian Consulate Jeddah.

Mohammed Noor Rahman Sheik, Consul General of India attended function as Chief Guest , Anand Kumar, Consul for Consul Affairs as guests of honor and large number of Kannadigas along with other community leaders attended the event.

General Secretary of the Forum Yashwant Amin delivered a power point presentation on the Mission, Vision, Objective and achievements of the forum with message to the audience MISSION 2020 set by the forum to bring at least 5000 families of Karnataka from below poverty line to above poverty line and support the Swaach Bharat mission of Prime Minister and as a part of this mission KNRI Forum already constructed hygienic toilets in 4 districts and have aim to build 100 toilets in the different parts of Karnataka by 2020.

KNRI Forum president Roshan Rodrigues in his speech welcomed all the dignitaries, guests and all the attendees to celebrate the Rajyotsava day. President thanked Indian Consul General and consulate staff for giving KNRI forum opportunity to help the Indian labors in the camps with help of other organizations in Jeddah under the supervision of Indian Consulate. Audience offered standing ovation for the services rendered by the Consul General at the difficult time for the Indian expatriates.

Roshan further said, it is his pleasure to lead highly qualified and dedicated team where we have Doctors, Engineers, Principals, Chartered Accountants, Office Managers and other professionals. It is a great honor and opportunity for me to be a part and leading such a result oriented team. Team work is very important to achieve the goals of the Forum and the way we are working can together deliver a lot.

Addressing to audience Chief Guest Consul General Mohammed Noor Rahman Sheikh said that the efforts of the Forum are recognized and highly appreciated in helping the needy & under privileged sections of the society back home in Karnataka and recently relief activity was a great contribution in the field of service to humanity. He elaborated and said, Karnataka is one of the progressive states of India and people are well educated and active in social services and willing to come forward to work for the betterment of the society. Bangalore is one of the best IT hubs in the world. He commented that on the basis of Forum’s previous performance I tend to believe and have much hope that forum can do much more to relieve misery and can transform 10 thousand families of Kannadigas instead of 5 thousand which is feasible and achievable. Noor Sheikh assured to the forum that he and his consulate team is ready and will extend their support to the Forum in nursing and solving the Indian labor grievances from time to time in Jeddah.

Vishwanath Hegde chief patron of KNRI Forum a well-known businessman along with Dr. Mohammed Hussain Maniyar ENT Surgeon a prominent social activist both from Karnataka were felicitated during the function by honoring shawls and mementoes of appreciation for their services to Indian community.

President Roshan was felicitated by the executive committee presenting memento as token of appreciation for his services towards Indian community in Jeddah.

Vishwanath Hegde and Dr. Maniyar thanked KNRI Forum for recognizing their services, while speaking Hegde said he feel pleasure helping poor and needy people and I render my support to KNRI Forum as they are always carrying this task. While speaking to audience Dr. Maniyar said Teachers play very important role in building individual, society and nation, therefore we should have a huge respect for our teachers. He remembered his few teachers who are no more in this world, but still their memories are in his heart.

Famous Bollywood singer Mohammed Salamat was available in Jeddah on business visit attended the event and entertained the audience by singing all time famous old and new Hindi songs. Other Jeddah’s prominent singers Mohammed Saif, Mohammed Kaleem, Mohammed Nawaz, Mrs. Asha, Altaf Almelkar and Ms. Afifa mahboob entertained the audience by singing the songs from old and new Hindi and Kannada songs. Dances were presented by the children from Indian schools and were choreographed by Priyanka Jagadish, Madhuri Manju, Pushpa Suresh and Reena Rego, a short comedy skit was presented by a group which was scripted by the president Roshan.

Karnataka students of 10th standard, who were studying in different schools in Jeddah, and obtained 10 CGPA Mohammed Iqbal Maniyar, Afra Ashfaq, Chinmayi Marakala, Hibba Hanif, Aliya parveen, Anchal jain, Sahana Manjappa, Samiksha bhushan, Mithil rajashekhar, Rayyan mohammed rafikh were felicitated by giving mementos at the occasion.

On behalf of KNRI Forum Sabu Chandran conducted a raffle draw and 10 gifts were presented to the lucky winners. Jet Airways conducted a raffle draw and winner got ticket to Jeddah – Singapore Jeddah, and lucky winner was SP Singh.

Role of master of ceremony was played by Niaz Ahmed who also conducted the quiz on Karnataka which was enjoyed by the audience while anchoring was done by Sulaiman khan.

Program started with Kannada all-time favorite song from Gandhada Gudi by Mohammed Kaleem while Vote of thanks was delivered by Yashwant Amin, and he thanked all the audience who spared their time from busy schedule to attend this event and remained focused till the end of the function. Snacks and dinner was served to all the attendees and function concluded with the national anthem.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Kuwait: Eid is usually a time of family get-togethers and feasts after weeks of dawn-to-dusk fasting. But this year people celebrated at home, with virus fears dampening the holiday spirit and strict restrictions in place.

Kuwait went under full curfew before the start of Ramadan leaving people to practice fasting and Ramadan rituals at home, Even Eid al-Fitr came under full lock-down period.

As situation demanded, IMA Kuwait celebrated the Eid Get-together online via video conferencing tool, All IMA members participated joyfully in Eid Milan online gathering which was scheduled immediately after Eid prayer. Members participated and congratulated each other on the eve of Eid.

The IMA president Shamvel Parviz addressed the gathering and thanked them for joining online for this unique Eid celebration which will be remembered in history. He also advised members to be aware of conditions of neighbors, friends and family and assist them if they need help in this difficult time.

Eid al-Fitr follows weeks of fasting and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims all over Kuwait followed strict guideline and performed Eid prayer at home along with their family.

As a part of social service activities IMA also distributed ration kits before start of Ramadan and during Ramadan for needy people all over Kuwait.

Dubai: In response to UAE health authorities encourage blood donation campaign Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta - U.A.E, conducted blood donation camps on April 22 at Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and on 23/04/2020 at Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah.

The Abu Dhabi camp was inaugurated by Head of Department of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, On this occasion she gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of blood donation, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of blood donation and congratulated the AKO members for their selfless social service and wished all the best for their future endeavours.

Abdul Rasheed, President of AKO presided over the function and Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta Vice President Mr. Mohammad Nasir appreciated the effort for organizing this camp and gathering youths to be a part of this noble cause as life is precious on this earth. "Each drop of blood counts much, so kindly take it as personal compassion to help unknown who requires blood with no relatives to help him/her.

In Abu Dhabi 41 and in Sharjah 49 donors participated in this event and donated their blood. It was nice to see cheerful smiling donors doing a great community work.
Blood bank staff and AKO Organizing team enthusiastically arranged the campaign which was witnessed by many members and leaders of various community organization of Karnataka.

Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta President briefed the participates about the ongoing social work of AKO in this current COVID-19 pandemic grim situation AKO is working on following fields: AKO Members have stepped up to support needy community during the Covid-19 pandemic have gone out of their way to comfort those struggling to deal with the challenging situation.

While thousands of people continue to #StayHome, many are in quarantine, there are those on visit visa and stuck here, others have lost jobs or face salary cuts. AKO in coordination with UAE Embassy and other social organization have been able to ensure basic necessities are fulfilled with food provisions and medical assistance to needy.

Providing counselling to bachelors and families those are on quarantine and isolation.

The organizers thanked everybody especially, UAE Health Authority, Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah, Management and staff as well as donors for their time and support for the good cause.
