Mangalore, Mar 1: Assayyid Fazal Haamid Koyamma Thangal Koorath, son of late Ullal Khazi Thajul Ulama Assayyid Abdurrahman Al-Bukhari has been appointed as the new Khazi.
He will take charge on March 13 at the premises of Ullal Dargah.
Popularly known as 'Koora Thangal', he served as assistant Khazi of Ullal.
In an annual general body meeting of members of 28 Mohallas he was choses unanimously to succeed his father.
Bengaluru, Mar 4: With details of the Bengaluru links of the Covid-19-positive patient from Hyderabad emerging, state health authorities on Tuesday got down to tracking any infection trail he may have left behind before heading home.

The authorities tracked down 71 people who had come in contact with the Hyderabad man and put them under surveillance. Hubballi, May 14: South Western Railway (SWR) has so far ferried about 54,000 passengers, including migrant workers, students and stranded people to 11 states to reach their home towns by Shramik Special trains.
So far 40 Shramik Specials were run one each from Kabakaputtur in Mysuru and Hubballi and remaining 38 from Chikkabanavara/Malur from Bengaluru area. About 54,000 passengers were ferried to different parts of the country. Maximum Shramik Specials trains train services were run to Lucknow (9) and Danapur (7).
Shramik Specials were run to Bihar (Bakora, Danapur, Baruni, Darbhanga), West Bengal (Purila, Bankura, New Jalpaiguri), Jharkhand (Hatia, Barkakana), Rajasthan (Jaipur, Udaipur), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow, Gorakhpur), Orissa (Bhubaneswar), Madhya Pradesh (Gwalior), Uttarakhand (Haridwar), Himachal Pradesh (Una), Tripura (Agartala) and Jammu and Kashmir (Udhampur).
SWR is transporting passengers to their destination as per the demand of the State Government with proper protocol and the receiving State Government is ready to accept them.
Gadag, Apr 9: An 80-year-old woman who tested positive for COVID-19 passed away on Thursday due to cardiac arrest in Gadag, the district's Deputy Commissioner said.
She also had a history of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI). Her body was disposed of as per the protocol, officials said.
According to the Karnataka Government, 10 new positive cases have been reported in the State today, taking the total COVID-19 cases to 191, including 28 discharged patients and six deaths.
With an increase of 540 positive COVID-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours, India's tally of coronavirus cases has risen to 5,734, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday.
Out of the 5,734 cases, 5,095 are active COVID-19 cases and 472 patients have recovered while 166 have died.
