Bengaluru, Jul 17: Following the protest by prisoners to transfer Krishna Kumar, chief superintendent of Bengaluru Central Prisons at Parappana Agrahara also has been transferred.gtrefg

The direction from Under Secretary of Karnataka government, MR Shobha has issued an order to transfer Krishna Kumar from his post at the Bengaluru Prisons with immediate effect.

Krishna Kumar was accused of beating up prisoners who provided footage of DIG Roopa's visit and alleged illegal activities inside the Parappana Agrahara jail. Around 30 prisoners who were supporting then Prisons DIG Roopa after she exposed the illegal activities at the Parappana Agrahara.

The media showed that the prisoners were being shifted to Bellary Jail were limping and had to be dragged as they were not in a position to walk.

This is the third important transfer this day post-Sasikala Bribegate was broken by then DIG Roopa. Earlier this day, the government had issued the order to transfer DIG Roopa from the Bengaluru Prisons, and she will be the Deputy Inspector of Police and Commissioner of Traffic and Road Safety, Bengaluru. DGP HN Sathyanarayana also has been transferred but has not been given any post.

Superintendent R Anitha will take charge as the Cheif Superintendent of Bengaluru Prisons, a post which was earlier handled by Krishna Kumar.

Bajrang dal killed harish and praveen , naresh shenoy killed baliga , karthik raj s own sister gave supari to kill him.

Bengaluru, Jan 7: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths held an international bookie in connection with the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) betting scam and spot-fixing racket, police said on Tuesday.

The bookie was identified as Jitin Sait (32), a native of Sonipat in Haryana.

'We had obtained and issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Sait, and on Sunday, he was caught after he landed at the Kempegowda International Airport from the Netherlands.

Mangaluru, Jun 2: The Karnataka Muzarai department, whose main income comes through temple and other religious places of worship, has incurred a loss of Rs 600 Crore in revenue during the lock-down, Minister for Muzrai Kota Srinivas Poojary said on Monday.

Addressing reporters here, he said the Kollur Sri Mookambika temple alone lost revenue of about Rs 14 crore it was earning during April and May.

Around 300 A and B grade temples under Muzrai (Hindu religious institutions and charitable endowments) department in the State lost around 35 per cent of their annual income, he said.

Kalaburagi, Apr 20: With no COVID-19 case reported here on Sunday, the total number of virus-infected people in the district stood at 22.

While three persons have succumbed to the infection in the district so far, three others have been cured and discharged.

"No COVID-19 case was reported in Kalaburagi district today. Total 22 positive cases and 3 deaths have been reported in the district till date. Three persons have been cured," said District Magistrate B. Sharat.

Karnataka's total count of coronavirus patients has surged to 390, said the State Health Department on Sunday.

"Six new cases have been confirmed for COVID-19 in the State from 5 pm on Saturday till 5 pm on Sunday. Cumulatively, 390 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state," it said.
