Kuwait: IMA hosts interfaith Iftar get-together

Kuwait: Indian Muslim Association-Kuwait in cooperation with IPC organized an interfaith Iftar get-together to present the message of Ramadan and promote religious harmony and inter-faith dialog, recently.

A galaxy of dignitaries from various organizations, Islamic scholars and people from all walks of life were part of the event held at Rajdhani Palace, Khaitan.

Hasan Taha, Assistant Manager, Ties Center, spoke on the message of Ramadan. He said that Ramadan was a month of devotion to God and it was a month of introspection and correction as well. During Ramadan Muslims develop sympathy for the poor and needy as they feel the pain of hunger and thirst, he said. Musa Azam Ibrahimi, a visiting scholar from USA, spoke on the topic “God consciousness”.

Sharafuddin Soofi delivered the keynote speech on the topic “Islam the religion of mercy”. He narrated a story to explain the fact that how caring for others will bring peace to ourselves. He said, in Islam there is no compulsion; man is given free will to practice a religion of his choice. “We need to respect all religions in order to bring about harmony in the society. All major religions basically teach oneness of God. This belief in one and true God is crucial for the peaceful coexistence of people of different faiths. Scriptures of Christianity and Hinduism also establish oneness of the God,” he said.

A question and answer session was held after the speeches. Sharafuddin Soofi and Hasan Taha answered questions asked by the audience.

Abdul Aziz Al-Duaij, chief guest, expressed his views at the occasion and applauded IMA’s efforts in bringing together different communities.

Guests of honor, Dr. Vinod Grover, President of Indian Doctors Forum, Mr. Thanrendra P. Shettigar, President of Tulukoota Kuwait, Mr. Venkata Shiva Rao Koduri expressed their views at the occasion and praised IMA’s efforts to bring people of different faiths closer to each other.

Masood Shahab, president of IMA presented gifts as a token of appreciation to guests of honour .The program started with the recitation of the Quran by Master Imaduddeen and concluded by the vote of thanks. Hasan Yusuf was the moderator for the whole event.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.
