Bengaluru, May 17: Taking strong objection to BJP unit president B S Yeddyurappa’s call to Veerashaiva Lingayath community people not to vote for the Congress in the May 19 by-elections in the state, the KPCC has decided to register a complaint with the Election Commission, Prakash Rathod, Congress spokesperson said here on Thursday.
Addressing newsmen here, the Congress MLC, charged that Yeddyurappa’s statement was aimed to divide the society, and against the election Model Code of Conduct.
The BJP leader, in a press conference here early this week seeking explanation from the Congress for removing former Chief Minister Veerendra Patil from the post, had allegedly accused that Congress had insulted the Veerashaiva leader by asking him to resign abruptly.
