Bengaluru, Jan 13: The Congress in Karnataka, the alliance partner with JD(S) in the Coalition government, is unlikely to field any of its sitting MLAs, to contest for the coming Lok Sabha elections.
According to party sources, the decision not to allow any of the party MLA to contest in the Lok Sabha election was taken following the present status of the thin margin of numbers, enjoyed by the coalition government in the state.
In the 225-member Karnataka Assembly, the BJP despite emerging as the single largest party with 104 members, was kept at bay from forming the government as Congress (79) and the JDS (37) joined hands.
