Bengaluru, Apr 6: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) today expelled two Congress leaders from the party for contesting against candidates put up by alliance Coalition partners in the Lok Sabha election.
The KPCC General Secretary Shafulla on Saturday said that the party has expelled the AICC co-opt member Amrith Shenoy who is contesting as Independent candidate for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha seat against JDS-Congress nominee Pramod Madwaraj for the April-18 Lok Sabha elections.
Shenoy had decided to contest in protest against Congress’ decision to cede the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency to JDS as per seat sharing deal.
