Maiden ‘Mangalorean Carnival 2017’ in Dubai on Oct 20

Dubai, Oct 17: For the first time Mangalureans in Dubai will be organising maiden exotic ‘Mangalorean Carnival 2017’ in Dubai on Friday, October 20, 2017 in association with Broadway Events.

The event will be happening in Knotty Yard at Holiday Inn Hotel, Embassy District, Bur-Dubai in a beautiful ambience withgreat interiors, Bars, Dance floor and that too in Mangalurean style.

The organisers are boasting that this will definitely chill you out and will make your week end a night to be remembered.

There are two DJs specially flying for the first time all the way from Mangalore to Dubai, getting their clubbing vibes along. These DJs have gained popularity playing in various clubs across India and also played alongside with some of the renowned international artist.

DJ JUDE

JUDE is one of the senior most DJ/producer, a house hustler and die hard partyholic. He is also a multi factitive entity hailing from Mangalore being grown up listening to various genres of music alongside building up a commendable music collection.”Destination Dance” is an unofficial pilot project of DJ JUDE.His remix have gained attention of Bollywood industry and international DJs. His remix of ‘Agent Vinod-Pungi’, ‘Ra-One-ChammakChallo’, ‘Greenday- when September ends’ are some of his hits. His remake of ‘Avicii- wake me up’ was supported by international DJs and was played in some of the radio shows.

DJ PRAN

DJ PRAN a youngest DJ who started his career at age of 17.  He is fast emerging and setting up a remarkable name in the DJ’ing industry. Being set to do his international debut he is known for his style of big room& club music keeping the music pulsating and the people on their feet.He is also the winner of War of DJ’s at National institute of technology and shared stage with some the big names in the dance music industry. It’s definitely a treat for all the EDM lover to hear him play in Dubai. You can expect some of the dance music hits of the year in his set.

DJ JOEL

Joel is well-known established DJ in Dubai. Fondly known in the Mangalorean community he has been playing around UAE, GCC and India. He was also a resident DJ at some of the well-known clubs in UAE. He is the proud winner of ‘War of DJ’with Runner up 2013 and 2014.

Mangaluru, May 15: In a shocking development, as many as 20 people from coastal Karnataka, who recently came from United Arab Emirates today tested positive for covid-19.

More than 175 repatriates were brought from Dubai to Mangaluru International Airport on May 12. Among them residents of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts were quarantined in their respective district. 

The throat swabs of all the passengers were sent for covid-19 testing on the following day. 21 of them obtained positive report today. Among those tested covid-19 positive, 15 are residents of Dakshina Kannada and five are from Udupi district. 

They were shifted to covid-19 hospitals in their respective districts today.

Mangaluru, June 28: Three fresh deaths in last 24 hours have taken the total number of covid-19 deaths in Dakshina Kannada district to 13.

While a 31-year-old youth from Idya in Surathkal and a 57-year-old woman from Bantwal passed away last night, a 52-year-old woman from Jokatte breathed her last today. 

The youth from Suratkal breathed his last in Wenlok. The woman from Bantwal’s Loretto Padav village was unwell for last 1 year. She was tested positive three days ago and passed away at a private hospital. 

The woman from Jokatte was reportedly suffering from tuberculosis. On June 26, she was admitted to a private hospital in the city, where she was tested coronavirus positive.

As per the district health bulletin on Saturday June 27 evening, a total of 12,919 samples have been sent for tests till date, out of which 12,198 have turned out negative, and 576 positive, including 10 persons from other districts. 

Out of these, 148 are currently active. As many as 416 persons have recovered and been discharged.

Kuwait: Friday Forum Kuwait conducted its 12th inter-school Islamic Elocution Competition at Hotel Rajadhani Palace, Khaitan on 1st January 2020. 

The competition, which was held in the senior and junior categories had participation from 15 Indian Schools across Kuwait comprising of 43 students. In the senior category, Ayisha Wafiya of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Efrem Joseph of Indian Community School, Amman won the second prize. 

In the junior category, Hima Jameela of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Fadhel Kandapath of Fahaheel Al Wataniya Indian School won the second prize. Nawaal Yaseen Ebrahim of Indian Community School (SR), Salmiya and Rhruthunanda of Indian Learners Own Academy, Abbasiya won the consolation prizes in senior and junior categories respectively.

This year, the event was fully conducted by the ladies wing of Friday Forum. Dr. Thasneem Amir, Ibtisam Basheer, Toast Masters Ola Rasheed, Fatma Abduhedeid, Shazia Thabassum and Marium Rangat were the judges for the competition in senior and junior categories. The event started with the Qira’at by Saneera Riyas, followed by welcome speech by Dr. Sajna Mohammed. 

The prizes were distributed to winners by Shahina Mansoor, Femitha Faseeh, Dr.Thasneem Amir, Dr. Sajna Mohammed, Zeenath Yacoub, Safna Sayam and Saneera Riyas. The Souvenir for the program - “INSPERIA 2020”- was released during the event by the chief editor Farha Abdul Rahman. The program was compered by Thanveera Noushad and the program convenor Subeana Shabeer conveyed the vote of thanks.
